Chevrolet Customer Service order tracking thread
So the mobile tracking app now says "order placed," and gives some general info about the car (Z06) and the dealer. I went to the Chat line and they said that "the preliminary order has been accepted but there is no TPW yet." So what does that mean? Does it mean that my dealer has been allocated a car for me, and that I should have a TPW soon?
Or does that mean nothing at all?

I've been in that status for 7 weeks now so I'm not sure that means you're getting a TPW anytime soon.

Seriously, does this thread still have any relevancy? Chevy Customer Service's last reply to anyone was July 30th. Maybe this thread could be retitled "My Rant about the inability to obtain information" and/or "How my dealer lied/misrepresented the facts when he accepted my deposit". Thanks to those who provided means other than this thread to find out the status of their particular order!

I am sure my account of my dealer allocation woes and direct criticism of the GM ordering system may have contributed to the lack of response by Customer Service.
I have taken my complaints to the top Ms Mary T, Barra at mary.barra@gm.com. I felt it important that executives should know how frustrated some of their most affluent cliebts are with how sold orders are ignored while simple inventory orders from dealers that are not sold yet are handled. I just did this yesterday. Being customer facing everyday I know great, good, bad or indifferent Customer Service looks. We are not being treated well after the initial sale and some arcane ordering / pecking order is why.

Dealer (so far very responsive and helpful to the extent that they can be) is going to try to push and might have some more info at end of the week. Time will tell. Frustrating, but "first world problems" in any event.....

By now you have seen that it depends totally on the kind of car you order. I put a deposit down and ordered a standard C7 with a transparent roof on July 17. I got a TPW of Aug 24, much quicker than I expected. The car ought to be here the first week of Sept. And this is a GMS sale too. I have nothing to complain about unless you want to count the 10 (ten) miles I have to go to pick it up.

My dealer just called with great news. His Chevrolet Zone Rep got him a special allocation so my order can progress. He has worked tirelessly for this allocation. I have been very vocal about the process and rightly so. Everyone of us deserve a grief free process from start to finish. We work hard to be able to afford this toy and we should always have priority over most inventory allocations. We deserve First Class Customer Service from Start to Finish. In my case I have sacrificed for decades putting my children through private schools and college above my desire for a fun sports car. The only way this gets better is if we reach out and express our dissatisfaction in detail in order for the process to be modified to produce a better result.
Your Corvette is moving along nicely! She currently has a TPW of 08/24, but please keep in mind that date is subject to change. Feel free to reach back out around then and we can fill you in on any updates.
