GT500 vs C7 Acceleration...........

Burning Brakes
I agree, the C7 Z will probably be a good run with the GT500 on the drag strip. We all know the GT500 cant hang on the road course. This is no surprise.
If you want to drag race, buy the GT500
If you want to road race, buy the C7

Melting Slicks
Not too sure that's an even comparison when the Mustang base price is about $54K and the new Z07 we don't know yet but I bet not too far from $100K.

If you want to go fast in a straight line, buy the GT500 where as the ZL1 is faster on the road course. But yes, this is an apples to apples comparison which dates back to the 60's

No now back on topic the c7 with a supercharger will beat the gt500 even with it making 700hp and the c7 making 600, but for track I would def take the C7 the Mustang is a straight line performer.. After driving the c7 it does handle a lot better than GT500.

How does the Zl1 handle I have never been in that car I heard its like glue on the track is that true. Now the 427 ss is coming out soon so hopefully I can drive one....it suppose to be faster also...

Hmmmm, let's see....a souped up Mustang with a true tear seat is less practical than a Corvette as a daily driver? Might want to rethink that. My stock GT 500 is actually quite liveable in all situations except snow.

Both beautiful cars but in a different way is all..like someone posted they shouldn't even be compared as one is a muscle car and it plays the part very well!! the other is a sports car and IT plays that part very well.

Scraping the splitter.
One thing that has always puzzled me is that ZL1's suffer terrible heat soak. It's so bad that those who drag race them caution not to idle them in the staging lanes or do big burnouts. The issue is that GM engineered a very subpar charge air cooling system (IC/heat exchanger) with a very undersized HE, virtually no intercooler reservoir and from what I understand, an IC pump with questionable capacity. I saw a modded car drop from close to 127 mph to ~119 mph at Atco after three hot-lapped passes. That all being said, I would think they heat soak pretty badly on a road course after a lap or two and dump tons of power.

I didn't take the typing course you apparently did. Are you insecure about your age? That appears to be what you are most sensitive about. Need a tissue?

Burning Brakes
I know what the magazines say, but I have yet to see a ZL1 worth a crap on the track. I've seen probably half-a-dozen this year. One had "total brake failure" into 16 at Sebring and the others were slow on-track. Clearly, that could be a driver issue, but so far I haven't seen one that came anywhere close to impressing me.
