Back at Atco today with my C7.

C6Z06 average drivers better beware!
Impressive #'s!
From your comment about the tree dropping and your reaction times though, unless you are practicing for some bracket racing, disregard the tree when you are ET chasing...ESPECIALLY at a rental!! It's not uncommon for me to have 4-5 second R/T's at a rental to make sure I am all set and RPM's are where I want them while ET chasing.
You are leaving off idle so RPM's are not an issue, but you sure can bump in and reset your 0-60 timer, then prepare and launch AFTER the green light is lit. No one will say a word to you!
Nice job. I'm quite impressed with the 1/4 mile times the C7 has put up thus far!

The point was the acclerometer is not accurate anyway and I prefer to play around with RT's than gather useless data. And I've seen lots of timeslips where people sit at the tree trying to figure out how to launch the car.
The cars get down the track very efficiently, and an average or only moderately above average C6Z driver is going to be chasing a C7 A6 car most of the way down the track. My buddy is an excellent driver and in his '13 GT500 on DR's running 11.5-.6 at 125-6 mph he couldn't catch me.

Thanks. I know how this all works, I've done probably 30 rentals at Atco alone and many others at Etown, OSW, MIR, etc.

Maybe you should be talking about how the C7 gets better gas mileage then the C6 Z06.

Nice job!
The fastest bone stock C7 is now officially 0.22 quicker than the fastest C6
11.71 C6
11.49 C7
These cars are quick and I imagined Chevy would not build a car thats slower than its predecessor so hats off to Chevy for building another great generation of Corvettes.

Agreed!
The C6Z is still on another level over the C7.
Dont get me wrong they are great cars but the Z06's go bottom 11's at 125-128 all day long with the quickest going 10's at 128+ and the quickest C7 is 11.49 @ 120. A half second is a lifetime in the 1/4 mile.
Chevy got the launch control on the C7 right thus the great 60' time to be able to manage the great ET that they run.

And for the record, I'd guess you're not even a "average or only moderately above average", which means you'd likely get your *** kicked by an A6 C7 at the track.

The fastest C6Z's go "bottom 11's at 125-128" with most of them running mid-high 11's.
I suggest you take a look at the "Fast List" that has been compiled over the course of 5 or 6 years.

And maybe you should learn to read.
You know, like these guys...
Run along now. Your input in this thread is virtually useless, like most of your ignorant posts in this section. You can't invent facts, or spread misinformation (like your stupid GVWR-sticker-curb-weight claim) in every thread.

Oh, and you are correct about my driving skills in 2013 since I'm 71 years old and have serious neuropathy in my feet. No where did I say I could cut a 10.9 in my Z06, so why are you trying to compare driver's skills instead of cars.
keep it cars to cars as I did by posting up Jamie's time slip vs your posted time slip.
Oh, and when I was 19 years old back in 1961 I was running 12.2 at 115 in my 1932 Ford 3 window coupe(that wasn't stock LOL), while in college and my only funding was a part time job. That was in a car that I built and raced in A/G, not some car that a car manufacturer built that I just got in and pushed the gas pedal to the floor and let the car do the driving.
I will acknowledge that you can probably out drive this 71 year old cripple in his pitifully slow Z06(with 469rwhp) if that makes you feel better about your driving skills and your car.

You posted the fastest time for a stock C7 with stock tires and I posted the fastest time for a stock Z06 with stock tires. The Z06 was a half second quicker than you. Checkmate.

Do you want me to link the posts of the C7's running 4.5-5 seconds 0-60 and 12.2 to 12.9 seconds in the quarter. By your constant posting telling us about you extensive drag strip experience, you must then consider yourself as better than a moderate or slightly above moderate driver. Thus you keep posting about your 11.5 times, but you want to ignore other equally competent drivers that can run in the tens in a stock Z06, by saying that I have no driving skills. What have my driving skills got to do with whether a C7 can run times equal to a Z06? Which it can't, with equally skilled drivers in each car. Im not really trying to compare the Z06 to the C7 as there is NO comparison. The real comparison is that the base C7 runs 2 tenths quicker than the base C6.
Looks like the majority of that 2 tenths in gained in the 60' time that Chevy blessed the C7 with that allows the car to pull such great 60's on street tires.
Hats off to Chevy for the programming and responsiveness of the new platform.
