Head and cam C7 ran 166 at the Texas mile. Stock C6 Z06's were also running 166 that weekend(normally, stock Z06's run 170-172 at the Texas Mile). Head and cam C6 Z06 ran 181.5 that same weekend(what a stock ZR1 normally runs at the Texas Mile).

Had a 18 year old friend, back in 1958, that had a 5,000 pound 1958 Coupe Deville that ran in the 14's, with a Hydramatic. Could outrun a stock badass 1957/1958 Corvette, with the hot fuel injected hot cammed engine and 4-speed T-10, that weighed 3,000 pounds.

What did that prove? Only that his dad(a MD) and his mom(a successful song writer) could write a big check to Racing Head Service in Memphis, TN to build a turn key car that was fast. It sure didn't prove that a stock Cadillac could outrun a stock Corvette.
Why are you always so ornery? I seriously don't understand.

I'm fine with it being in General, a C7 in the 10's is news to me!

The same question runs through my mind with every negative post he makes. I come to this section to learn about the C7 and see how folks are doing with it. It seems like everywhere I turn, there's Joe trying to pizz on someones cornflakes. It gets old, fast.

Joe, I don't necessarily care to read the answer as to why you feel the need to keep doing that but maybe it's time to either let it go or ask yourself why. Really.

RocketGuy3, Racer, Les, JustinStrife,

Typical crybabies. If you can't answer my posts then you make personal attacks on me. So typical.

I don't care about your argument. I agree that a modified C7 cannot be compared to an unmodified anything.

I just don't understand why you take the attitude you take in almost every single thread I see you post in. You go straight to the spiteful sarcasm, almost without fail, no matter how innocent the original post. I also have a hard time understanding why you're here if you're so in love with your Z06 and have no need for a C7 that you're so convinced is garbage.

No friends in real life? Only correspondence on this board? Who knows....I wonder if he is this way in person? Maybe he thinks if he can turn away just one person from a C7, it will make his life bearable.

I don't consider headers and a shot of nitrous "highly modified" so IMHO a LIGHTLY modified C7 is a 10 second car. Makes me excited to see what a C7Z car will do.

What in THE hell are you talking about?
No one said anything about this C7 ******* a stock LS3...NO ONE.
No one implied (even remotely) that this was a STOCK C7...NO ONE.

Seriously, what is your issue with this car? I just don't get it. I would think a true Corvette lover would be excited about a new generation car. All you do is tear it down.

Your comments make as much sense as me posting in the C7 section about the "Service column lock" debacle that plagued C5's for years.

Jimmy

Its really sad to one individual so filled with hate for a material item, that he spends his entire day.. everyday.. complaining about something he doesn't even own.

Its a car. Its a better than the car it replaced. And one day, it too will be replaced with a model that is better than it. Get over it already.

I just read your posts again. What did you post, exactly, that required an answer? There were no question marks, just you taking some kind of stroll down memory lane about an old Cadillac with an automatic.... And pointing out speeds in the Texas Mile....
What's the question?

I cannot wait to see what a stock C7 will do with some drag radials or similar drag tire. Could it get a 11 flat or close with a fully broken in motor at, say, 123?

There's nothing to answer. What you're seeing is honest, factual comments on your very obvious negativity- from a lot of different people.

Joe, go back and read through all of your posts about the C7 (and other subjects probably), and then you tell me who the real crybaby is. That was a weak attempt on your part to deflect attention away from yourself.

OP- sorry for the diversion from the topic. Sometimes things just need to be said.

Well, when you do, PLEASE post it in the C7 TECH section because no one in General is smart enough to realize a mid 10 second 1/4 mile C7 is modified.

Don't want to get certain folks all wound up again.

Holy crap, were you at Texas MotorSport Ranch with The Drivers Edge during their run in December last year? I swear I remember your car there... But I could be crazy. There were a lot of Corvettes there.

I'm not hating on the C7, just a realistic...I honestly don't see those times happening without a tune and converter or clutch.

Congrats to the OP as it looked like there was a headwind he was fighting.
