Default MSRP discounts

A local dealer called me about a 2LT that the promised buyer re****ed. The salesman offered it to me at MSRP, 64K. How much do you think I can get off MSRP?

MSRP seems to be the best deal. if it was everything i wanted I'd get it, if not wait.

Not likely to get anything off without knowing someone high up at the dealer.

Why would they discount it? They know it's a hot item. If you don't want it at MSRP, the guy they call next on the list probably will.....or the one after him, etc.

I'm thinking, that with some reasonable negotiation, $1.00

You're lucky they're not asking for a premium ABOVE MSRP!

Grab it fast if you want it-be prepared to pay list price.

No offense but I guess you have not spent much time on the C7 forum. MSRP is all you can expect unless you are a past recent customer at that dealer and can play that card.

I've had two dealers offer $1500 off MSRP. Offer the dealer $2500 off MSRP. It's the end of the month and that has always been the best time to get the best deal.

The old end of the month ploy. And you bought it. Did you go in and get your discount? Of course you didn't. And had you tried, you would have found out that it was smoke and mirrors. Wishing don't make it so. And the truth is elusive. The roses smell better when one is awake.

Was it on a car that you had to order or a in stock car? If it was in stock was it a Z51?

End of the month means nothing. Dealers want to sell a car EVERYDAY of the month no matter the margin. Do you really think they wait until the end to aggressively sell cars?

I think someone once told me that their "end of the month" is in the 3rd week of each month or something along those lines.

Looks like a forum vendor is offering discounts on non Z51 cars.

Below MSRP will happen....just not now. My guess is in 4 months when dealer inventories start building. Better deals on the 14's will come in the Summer as the '15's start on the assembly line and get ready for a Fall of 2014 rollout.

These aren't 20k cars and not everyone is looking to spend or has the means to afford 55k+ on a two seat sports car.....With that said, this time next year is when I plan to pull the trigger.

I know the GM at that dealer. He is 3k or higher on all vettes no movement. Ask you friend for proof. I also know they have 1000k+mark-up on BS vin etching and some other stuff like interior protection & wax coating BS adding to the sticker so I guarantee it was a wash..

All I will say is check with all the usual forum dealers and they will give discount, but will ask to keep pricing private. Why would I lie about something so stupid, I've been on the forum for years and have no interest in making up stories just to give myself typing practice. I am keeping my ZR1 for now, but assure you $1500 off isn't difficult to get right now from multiple dealers, just show you are a serious buyer and they will move on the price.

On non-Z51 units, there's a higher chance to get a price break.... on a Z51-equipped unit, those chances are quite slim... not impossible but not as easy.

Do your due diligence... keep on trying but if they say yay, then you better be ready to commit with an earnest deposit or outright purchase.
