Default Boomy Bose bass reduced...

Had a friend who is in car audio as a profession and sells BOSE stuff sit in my car today...he tinkered a bit and did the following. He asked me if I wanted best sound for driver, or all occupants - I said driver:

1. set car in "driver"
2. pushed the bass one push less than center , one push more than center on treb and midrange
3. then - and this made a big diff - one push on the top "front arrow" on the car pic at the right. seemed to "clam down" the boomy base....

It made a big diff and how I'll run for my taste...

So does step 3 mean you're fading forward one notch?

I don't understand why people have so many issues with setting up a car stereo system with 3 and 5 band EQ's ?? its adjustable to suite most peoples taste in sound..play with the controls till you like it, done!! now back your regularly scheduled program......

Blasting booming Bose base begets big buzz in doors.

Thanks, I will try this as well. I turned my bass way down, it was way too much where it was set when I picked it up.

I find that putting it on Driver makes it even more boomy.

Your friend is in Car Audio and sells Bose systems for cars?
Sorry, I gotta call BS. Bose does not support the aftermarket. They are strictly a OEM supplier.

When I first got my car I had to turn down the Bass a little and now it sounds good.
