I think that GM should rent the 7.5 mile oval track in Ohio, and then let C7 driver's unleash their cars.

Won't happen but sure nice to dream about driving 190-200 MPH without loosing your drivers license.

Pulled like a freight train.

73" Alaska Yukon moose. Its like parking a small car in my house.

I did 150 in my base C6 in eastern Colorado years ago! The view looked pretty much the same, straight road, could literally see from horizon to horizon!! GO WEST YOUNG MAN!!!

As I stated earlier in this post, I did 150 on the plains of Colorado in my C6, very flat road, no traffic. The only sensation I had of going that fast was the highway stripes whizzing by. The car hunkered down and handled splendidly. I can imagine how well the C7 would handle. I could have easily snapped a picture!! Did it violate what I learned in Driver's Ed, yeah probably, but sometimes ya got to peg that fun factor!!!

I don't think it's in the rules, so.......

Have fun and be careful

Common sense? Snapping a picture of the dash while driving a car at 152 mph is against so many other "rules", I can't begin to catalog them all.

Did you look up and smile at the NSA satellite leased by the Idaho Highway Patrol ???

That's pretty cool. Did you upshift and go for more? I see nothing wrong with driving that fast in a desolated area where you are only posing danger to yourself.

The level of jealousy I am feeling right now is gargantuan, seeing the highway you have available to you. I live in New York, right by the city btw…….

Get a Gopro or something and mount it so you don't have to hold anything. I want to see a C7 acceleration video on youtube of the acceleration from 0 to whatever crazy speed. The Z06 has one, I think the ZR1 has one also.

I'd just like to chime in with a small suggestion for anyone doing this stuff - have a passenger take the photo so you can keep both hands on the wheel.

(obviously I should have suggested not to do it in the first place but we all know people will anyway so...)

I myself am using this thread as a learning tool about the C7. I'm not here to judge the op about his speeding. I don't live where there are roads that allow safe height speed. I do agree that he should use in car cameras instead of hand held. My questions are my interest in the car. The speed is not my interest, it's the RPM'S. Will a new LT1 hold up under high extended rpm's or will it cause the new design small block to start using or blowing oil. Op, please answer, or someone, answer my question about the amp gauge reading, why is it so low??? Why are the volts / amps being pulled down by high rpm's ??? You must admit, this new c7 is a learning experience for us all......

Of course, another way is to record the speed using a GPS and then take a pic of the Garmin in your living room.
