I am not too sure about this idea, but I'll throw it out there anyway:
How about in the carbon-fiber option, incorporating a carbon-fiber frame outside an aluminum frame on the horn piece, from the stitching lines going outward, to complement the style of the dash, keeping the face in leather?

The only real concern there is: what happens to that piece when the bag deploys? CF shatters and turns itself into little slivers during an "event". Those slivers can and will do nasty things to an airbag, or worse: your face (or neck, or...). So that would have to be approached really carefully...
