The Only Solution To The Quality Control Issues
I am amazed at how many different and re-occuring quality control problems there are with the C7. The reason these problems exist is because: 1. it is an entirely new car, inside and out. 2. when each and every car comes off the line it is not test driven and examined by a specialist with a fine tooth comb, and every problem, big and/or small, corrected. 3. there is not a high degree of pride-of workmanship at the factory. (I have toured the factory twice). I have owned 10 Vettes model 1992 to 2010 and have not seen so many issues as there are with the C7. I plan on getting a 2015 C7 convertible after they have been in production for 3 months and the quality issue situation has been resolved. My suggestion is for everyone to take the time to scrutinize every detail of their C7 including a test drive before any paperwork is signed. If you find any problems that are not VERY minor, don't accept the car. Tell your dealer to either fix the problem or to get you another one. And there is no way on the planet I would accept a car that had less than perfect paint. And no touch-ups or re-paints!!! Maybe GM will start to get the message.
I bought the newly designed Porsche Boxster S 13 months ago, which was 3 months after introduction. The car was 100% perfect in every way at delivery. The paint was as good as it gets. The workmanship inside and out was impeccible. I spent much time on 2 Porsche forums and never saw complaints about quality and workmanship such as those on this forum. There is no reason that the folks in BG cannot produce a product that has the same quality as those produced in Stuttgart. I am a bigtime Corvette fan. When my C7 convertible is delivered in a year or so, it damn well better be perfect, because I will not settle for less. Either should you.

Everything you say is true ............. but, this is the first time there was a completely new car, a new assembly line, some new workers, and some new suppliers. A really ambitious undertaking. Until early 1981, they built Corvettes in St. Louis, and then built the same 1981 car in the new plant in Bowling Green.
In the last week or so, there seems to be fewer problems. Everyone with problems complains, but many people that are happy say nothing. (They don't want to jinx it.) I'm sure we'll soon be up to the same or better quality than before.

I have a C7 and no real issues yet (except not wild about how much display lights dim at night)
But can you PB--S guys do me a favor? Tell fellow owners to stop revving the motor at stop lights, or snap passing other guys with with their Porsches. The only worse crowd are the teens in their Hondas, but I swear I cannot tell you how many times guys in their 50s in PB--S with no idea of the limitations of their (otherwise fine) cars will bait me while I am in my 458 or MPC-12c and minding my own business.
I know you wouldn't do it because you are Vette owners and know cars.

The 1968 Corvette first year for the C3 by far was the worst first year Corvette. The 1984 also had lots of problems. The C5 cars had transmission failures on both six speed and automatics, steering column lock and 2001 ZO6 engines used oil
