The day has come that...
The day has come that I had to let my wife take the C7 for a day. She has some all day seminar she is going to, which leaves me with the three kids for the day. I knew this day would come, but I am a nervous mess! I know she will be extra careful and I provided her with 15 minutes of "instructions," but that doesn't make it any easier. Especially when she is driving down the highway asking me how to change radio stations....

Our club has an annual "Powder Puff" event strictly for the ladies, where they go out to lunch, take in a movie, etc in the Vettes. No men allowed. The men get together in their pickups and go to a bar hoping to drown their worries about what might be happening to their Corvettes. Fortunately, there is not a drag strip nearby where the ladies can go and see if their C7 will outrun a Viper.

This happened to me in 2001 with my C5. The wife took the vette Christmas shopping with her friend for the day. Longest day of my life. I feel for you. Hang in there, it'll be over soon...

I encourage my wife to take mine as much as she can, makes it easier when I bring up the subject of trading it in for the Z07. (when/if it ever comes out) If she had no interest in driving the C6 it would make my argument a lot harder. Now if she would only start driving the tractor around.

Actually my C5 and C6
were for my wife. I was not ready to give up my Twin Turbo SS Camaro and this was a way to have my cake and eat it to.
Stick shift excuse won't work as she was raised on manual tranny's.
She is usually not a big lets buy a car person BUT the new C7 has caught her attention so my expectations look GOOD.
May I turn 65 and want to do it then.

She'll do fine I'm sure. Bet she enjoys driving the C7.

Had a 64 Chevy II Nova that I built back in 72. They only came with 6 cyl in 1964. Converted it to a 283 with crane cam and lifters, Edelbrock high rise, dual line Holley, headman headers, 11 in. clutch and a M23 Muncie 4 speed, ETC. This car would smoke many vettes back in the day, lots of HP for the weight. The wife hated to drive the car but would if she must because the clutch was very stiff. She couldn't ease the clutch out so her method for take off was pour the coal on it and pop the clutch. The guys where she worked would stand outside to watch her do a burnout when she left work. Those were the days!!!!

Several years ago I encouraged my wife to take my C5 Z06 to work. She did and received a lot of attention and thoroughly enjoyed the experience as she has several times since. The car put a smile on her face every time she drove it. You want your wife to be as passionate about the car as you are.
My wife is excited about getting a new C7 as much or more than I am.

Rent a car for 35 bucks and let the wife take her own car.
Enterprise delivers and picks up.
It might even be as little as 30 dollars for the day...

Do you have an update? Did she love the Stingray and the way it drives?
I am sure they both made it home safe and sound.
Enjoy,
