Headlights jitters/tremors....driving me crazy
Is this just my car? When I am cruising at night at let's say 40 mph and go over a few bumps in rapid succession, I can notice the headlight beams have an after shock or a very brief jitter (As if the lights are not mounted securely and something is loose out there). It makes me feel I am driving a plastic car and it is becoming more and more annoying by the day (or night)!!! Has anyone else noticed the same? Is this normal for this car given the fiberglass?

No, it is not normal.

I don't have a C7, but on our previous 2007 Mazda 3 GT, the Xenon headlights did bounce when going over bumps....did it for the 6 years we had it. It stated in the Mazda manual it was normal. Had to do with the way the bulbs are mounted. Did not bother me.
I would guess, it is normal on the C7. New car, new headlights, new feature!!!
My C6 lights do not bounce, but maybe they do ever so slightly and I do not notice.

Called him up and he said he has seen this on other cars but never on a corvette so definitely abnormal. He asked me to bring it in. The issue is how do I replicate the problem for him since it will have to be driven at night for anyone to notice it

Our 2009 C6 Z51 has a slight jiggle on rough pavement, both headlights do it exactly the same and most people don't notice it, but I do. Has not changed during the 60k miles we've owned the car. I just ignore it.

Should not be doing that. I think it may be the tabs. I know this is aftermarket but when installing aftermarket bi-xenon headlights on my last car, one of the tabs broke on my passenger side headlight. It jittered all over the place. It drove me crazy. I would take it to the dealer and have them look at it.

I'll try to provide some input for you guys, but it's difficult to diagnose (like a lot of problems) without seeing the problem personally. The key point here, in what I'm suggesting as potential root cause is a matter of severity.
If the jitter is slight/mild, there is most likely nothing wrong with your headlamps. HID/xenon light source's do not have a filament. There is a horizontal arc between two electrodes. And this arc moves, slightly, over bumps and on rough roads.
If the jitter is fairly severe, the root cause could be broken mounting tabs, as others have suggested, or the main beam projector (inside the lamp) could be loose...
Bottom line, you'll have to either make this diagnosis yourself or find someone you trust to check it out.

Hey y'all,
I would like to get cases started for those with headlight concerns. I do understand that some of this maybe normal and some of this is going to be out of the scope of normal. I would like to get involved to determine the root cause. Please PM me with your information including your VIN, mileage and dealership.
Please provide more information on the concerns with your headlights as well.
Thank you,
Kelly J.
