Here is another different source on the same subject Hmmm.

The only things truly "interesting" about this article is that it fails to mention and credible sources of information by name, and no legitimate publication has printed the same.
Lays this article on the coffee table right next to your copies of the National Enquirer & Star magazine . . .

GM will "milk" the latest generation as long as possible. They always have. IMO, the C7 will be a very good seller for, at least, 2/3 MYs. After that HP/performance will be bumped up to increase/maintain sales. Eventually, a few tweaks to the body to keep it updated. Also, we have one/two hi po models to be introduced. Along with DCT. Seven year model run, at the minimum.

I'm not buying a word in any of those articles. I will say, however, if GM is so stupid as to put anything other than the traditional small block V8 in it, then I've bought my last Corvette. I will not buy a V6-powered Corvette, I don't care how much HP it has or what kind of gas mileage it gets.

I have been preaching Hybrid and mid engine design for Corvette all year. Acura NSX, BMW i8. The small block is dead and the sooner the better. Was at a Cadillac dealers yesterday and the XTS and CTS both now have a twin turbo V6 with 410 HP. The small block V8 with deactivation of two cylinders is old technology. GM had to announce something but wasn't ready with a real C7 so you got a C6.5. The die hard Corvette people with just have to get modern.

C7 is doing extremely well and has been very well received by the car community on all fronts. I have a feeling that the C7 can possibly be one of the best selling Corvettes in Chevy history.

from cadillac, available 3.6L Twin Turbo V6 EPA-estimated mpg 16 city/24 highway.
best c7 hwy mileage 30 mpg.
seems like the ttv6 is a step backward for fuel economy.
maybe chevy figured out cylinder deactivation would solve their problem.
time will tell

Mark Ruess stated in an interview not long ago to not be surprised if we see a Hipo hybrid vette in the near future.
