My one big gripe...
Am I the only one that finds it odd that on a 50-70k car, we have to pay an addition $100 for "battery protection"? For a hundred bucks, they couldn't include this on every car and add in $100 to the base price? Given the issues with DBS in the past, you'd think this would be a standard option.
Anyone have a reasonable explanation other than money...and even money, they aren't breaking the bank at a hundred bucks.

I had an 06, didn't have a DBS problem. It's simply an option. If you want it check the box. I frankly don't need one so why jack up the price $100 for folks like me. Some folk's C7 may spend a lot of time in the garage so the battery protection may be something they want.

If you drive your car regularly, you don't need it. It's just a float charger.

Everyone does not need this option, it is for cars that see infrequent use.

Actually it is more then a float charger. If you get the battery protectin package you get a nice charger that plugs into an outlet right above the battery. You dont have wires hanging off of your battery and your battery is always fully charged.

If you think that is bad go to the Mercedes site and look what is an option. I can tell you it is just about everything that can legally be left off of the car.

What is the problem with needing a charger on a seldom driven car. Just jump the thing
if need to take it someplace. My C6 is dead most the time, have a heavy duty portable
jumper. It start and run fine, no errors, or codes. Seat setting all seem fine too.

Same deal as the airline charging you for a baloney sandwich. Most people on a survey would say reduce my ticket as low as possible; I don't want to be paying for a baloney sandwich that I don't want.

It's just a trickle charger that plugs into a lighter socket. Here's a $20 one with a few more connections. $100 buys you the Corvette flags. You decide what you want;

My one big gripe is charging another $795 for NAV.
If a $60K car already has two 8" touchscreens.. why beat the customer down for another $800 in Navigational software and a GPS antenna. Seriously a fully functioning major brandname (TomTom, Garmin, etc) standalone handheld GPS unit cost under $100 these days. Why are charging $800 simply to activate this feature, when the hardware is already installed in every C7. Even worse when you consider some $20K cars already come with NAV as a standard feature.. on a car that starts at $52K it should be standard equipment.

Ferrari includes it in the car.
Then again, a base 458 Coupe is $247,000 without options, gas guzzlers tax, transportation....
I suppose they can throw in a hundred bucks.
The only thing that stands out to me as unreasonable is the $600 to paint the calipers red or yellow. After all, to paint the entire car in metallic red is only $1000 more. Is it really that much more expensive to paint a caliper red instead of black?
I understand the Nav thing because of the royalty and third party's involved. The battery thing is just a way to get some more quick profit that most don't pay much attention to when writing a check for $65K.
