Default Anyone have a steering problem ?

When I turn the wheel All the way to the end (like when backing up on a smooth driveway) the steering feels bumpy/jerky & makes noise like when I am on a bumpy road.
The same thing happens turning All the way going forward on a smooth driveway.
Is this normal ?
Does anyone notice this?

Same as on C6. Someone said someplace it has to do with front tire width. Don't know if that is accurate, but it is true of every single one, not in any way an individual car thing

Ackerman angles due to the location of the steering rack. Your car is fine. It has little to do with the width of the front tires.

It does not happen as much with warm tires. I turn the wheel less when coming out of my driveway and it does not happen.

Do the Ackerman angles lesson when tires are warm?

I have no idea. I can only tell you what my car does. I am not into science but I do enjoy reality.

It seems that some cars have more of a problem than others. My C5 with the OE Goodyear's was quite noticeable but diminished greatly when I installed Michelin tires.

My C6 Z06(with much wider tires than my C5, or a C7) is hardly noticeable, with either the OE Goodyear' or the replacement Bridgestone's. And that was with both the factory alignment or the less aggressive alignment I had done with the Bridgestone's. At full lock on my Z, you can barely feel it.

I get this too, but as others have already said, it's normal and it's also mentioned in the owner's manual too

Thanks for all the responses

I am glad it's not an individual car thing.
I had a 1997 C5 NON Z51 and don't remember this at all.

It's not a "problem" it is a characteristic of wide tires. When you turn full lock in either direction, the two wheels are scribing two different radii as they travel through a turn. One is turning along the arc and the other is scrubbing along the pavement when it tries to scribe a different arc.

With my '99 C5 it's more noticeable when going forward. My father's 60th 427 convertible I almost can't feel it moving forward. But in reverse you can really feel it.

Get it on my C5 with new Michelins. Don't remember it as much with the original Goodyears.
