GM - Please consider adding a spoiler delete option for Z51 cars
GM,
Please consider adding a "Spoiler Delete" option for the Z51 package. I feel that I'm not alone in wanting the goodies of the package while preferring the looks of the car sans spoiler. It was disappointing to learn that the rear fascia is drilled for the spoiler to be bolted down. It'd be really cool to be able to get the car with the spoiler uninstalled and in the trunk.

The base spoiler is the 3rd brake light... it's part of the design of the car. The Z51 is a bolted/taped on extra. You can order it as an extra on base model cars so it shouldn't be an issue to leave it off a Z51 car. The aero effects are minimal. with a small lip spoiler.

I agree....Z51 with no spoiler, Cyber grey with matching vents is what I would order. I think I could get past the rear end design with that combo...

Hey GM while you're at it, you know bowing to all of these requests, make it all for under 20K, thanks a million man.........The Corvette isn't an alla carte, choose your own value menu, Wendy's any way you want it.

No, but with enough feedback it could influence future options for the '15 model year.

I could live with the Z-51 spoiler....but attach it to the hatch, not the body. Or, make it an option, or removable!

How else is GM going to know what the consumer wants if the consumer isn't allowed to use whatever means is available to do so? Do you think GM should list their phone numbers of their Suits so the consumer can give them a ring and discuss it? Think that is a better solution than using the Forum, for both parties?

If you don't like the spoiler, go to a body shop, get them to take it off and fill the holes. If you don't like the wheels on your base, go to Tire Rack and order ones that you do. Chev provided you with the canvas at a great price, it's up to you to customize how you want.

The point of this thread was to get some feedback to GM about a spoiler delete which is an easy process change... check an option box and the employee on the line throws it in the back of the car vs. drilling holes and installing it. The purpose was not for a bunch of off the wall customizations to be theorized. You can purchase and add the spoiler to base cars from the factory already so why not allow a spoiler delete?
Have you ever tried to paint match some of the special tinted clear colors GM uses like Crystal Red and/or Velocity Yellow? It's terribly difficult... I'd rather forgo the hole drilling vs. trying to fix it after the fact.

Been racing Corvettes for a long time. I'm sure it produces some minimal downforce, but not anything to make a meaningful difference to me. The standard spoiler is more prominent than the C6 Z06 one anyway. I'm sure it's sufficient to keep the car stable under hard braking etc.
