Default Removable Roof for Big Dog / Hipo C7?

When the Hipo / Big Dog version of C7 is released do you think the roof will be removable? It will most likely use the same frame as C7 Stingray since it is already an Aluminum Frame and is stiffer than the C6 Z06 / ZR1.

In my opinion - 0% chance. Even if the C7 is stiffer than the C6...it'll be even stiffer with a fixed roof.

Hope it can be simplified, more stiff, and less rattle-prone with a fixed roof. I think the convertible version will be required if you want the roof off.

If the removable roof, or any other creature comforts, are removed from the hi-po car, I'm not buying. No way, no how.

For me, I am not looking for a track/race car that can be driven on the street. I want a hi-po street car that can kick butt on, and off, the track. In C6 terms, I don't want a Z06, but rather a ZR1. They both have their place and their buyers.

It will be interesting to see if/how Chevy keeps both buyers happy.

I hope it's at least an option to get a fixed roof coupe.

If I was the one making that call, I would make it buyer's choice. And for a REAL PR bonus, no extra cost either way!!!

Actually that would be a great idea. I doubt there would be a great deal of difference in the price of the parts involved.

Perhaps Tadge will see this thread and run with it. . . .

I would love that , I almost spent $20 with carravaggio to make my Z a drop top . But changed my mind , not for the money but on keeping the car original . If they make a hi-po c7 vert or targa then game is on . I would get one in a heart beat .

I don't recall the ZR1 having a removable roof, either. Not sure I understand your post. Z06 & ZR1 are the high end of performance, with intentions to be run on the track.

I wasn't very clear...sorry for the confusion.

At least for some years, if not all, the ZR1 was available with more options than the Z06. Power passenger seat for example. The two cars were intended for somewhat different buyers.

An even more stark example is today's Camaro. The ZL1 is to Camaro what the ZR1 is to a C6, while the current Z28 is to Camaro what the Z06 is the C6.

I'm hoping for the ZL1/ZR1 version of the C7...with a removable roof panel!

It's all about enticing consumers to spend money on oorvettes...

Targa top and a convertible version will be part of the higher performance model...

Just look at the demand of the c6 427 convertible sales even in the last year of production run.

The only reason I'd want a targa top on any modern Vette would be to pop it off and insert a clear top. For my tastes to me the Vette losses its' beauty with the roof off.
