I guess I was REALLY fortunate today. I walked into my dealer and a Torch Red Z-51 w/magnetic ride was sitting on the showroom floor. The buyer had decided not to buy.

Looks like I’m the third one because my salesman sent me a message if I drop my Z51 option my order will go in Monday. I think I’m going to drop the Z51.

My dealer just called today to see if I wanted to drop my Z51 and CF roof options from my order. Said they could place the order today and get it built quickly. GM must be running out of orders to build with non Z51 and see-thru roof. I told him I would wait on GM to get what I want. Dealer said will hold my place on the order as they have my deposit. Waiting game is still on it seems.

I saw vin 2511 today that had both a CF and Z51. So how is it that here are so many waiting for the options? You would think the factory is FIFO and every car lower has been built. Not true? I'd be a little pissed that my car is on constraint for something later VINs are being built and delivered with.

I'm not dropping the z51 option, despite the fact that my allocation was called almost 3 weeks ago. I don't "need" the car so there's no real rush, but hearing about everyone getting theirs or striking gold randomly at a dealer is making me want mine really bad. Patience is a virtue...at least I keep telling myself anyway.

I'm going to wait it out, I'd give up the exposed carbon roof (don't think I'd give up the carbon dash), won't compromise on Z51, mag shocks or perf exhaust....

Exactly. I decided against the carbon roof as well. I figured one constraint was enough, plus it's an absurd price for a "non-essential" option. The roof is carbon anyway, and it's not worth $2k to see that it is.

How many Corvettes has your dealer been allotted for 2014? Some lower volume dealers only have 5 for 2014 at this point and time. If the dealer has a low allotment number and has sold orders on all but yours your order may go to someone else who is willing to take a base car vs. a Z51. Of course if your dealing with a large volume dealer your probably ok to wait.

Make sure you thought out your decision...They really are two different looks.I chose the non z-51,but I preferred the no spoiler look with the smaller diameter wheels.I wanted my car toned down.
The z-51 optioned cars definitely have a more (in your face )look.

Same boat, I have a C6 3LT Z51 and am not willing to give ANY of that up. The dealers by me keep telling me to just go without...... I told them I will only buy a 3LT Z51. "Just go without", Thanks but no thanks!

I'm staying with the Z51. My car would have been ordered by now if not for the constraint. If this drags on too long (as in not getting car until next spring), I will switch to a 2015.

I also am under the Z51 constraint. My order has been at #1100 for 45 days. If nothing is moving forward by the end of Jan 2014, I will switch to a 2015. If I have to wait another 5 or 6 months, might as well wait a couple more and get a 2015.

Order option SB3 dealer installed body color wing spoiler, same spoiler that comes with the Z51, on your non Z51 car and the only way someone can tell it is not a Z51 is by seeing you do not have slotted brake drums and black calipers, and if they are really sharp noting the smaller diameter wheels. There is no Z51 badge on the Z51's. I would imagine Mid-America will be out with one soon though !

Incorrect. SB3 is not the Z51-style spoiler, it's the wing spoiler that is completely different. The Z51-style spoiler to order on a non_Z51 car is RPO code SBU (in body color) or SBV (in carbon flash mettalic).

GM's wing spoiler is this below... as you see it is not the Z51 spoiler:

Appreciate the correction. Will tell my dealer to take it off the order and order the SBU over the parts counter. All may change though as I may luck out on the 18th if the Z51 constraint has been lifted and my original order with the Z51 option is accepted in the system.

I'd be more likely to wait for a 2015 than I would to change my order away from the Z51.

My Z51 order went in, in the latest allocation. They got 4 cars and 1 Z51. Hope it gets built soon!
