Is the point of the wheel locks so no one steals your wheels? I wouldn't think there would be a huge risk of that on stock wheels, but could be mistaken. I do love those black wheels though...very sharp!

these wheels are still way above the norm that most people have (think mailbu guys that buy them hot) so yes, they will be stolen..wheel locks are just a way to slow down the meth heads, pros can still get them if they want...

i think it's because the factory puts chrome lugs on there. ugly as hell on a black wheel??? why?

I have posted before some of the vettes are high as hell and some are just right. Don't know why. Miles have nothing to do with it or z51 and base also.
Both are late vin numbers

Other tools can be used to take the locks off. Even something as simple as an average socket set... Local tire shop here uses a socket and hammer to remove locks when no key is available. They use a hammer to tap the socket over the top of the locks to remove them from the wheels.
The locks may not stop someone that is determined to remove the wheels... But they can slow them down or be enough of a hassle to make a crook move on to another car.
And the really sad thing is, many people stealing wheels are taking them for the cheap scrap metal value... Lots of drug addicts are taking wheels and selling them for only $5 or $10 bucks a wheel at the scrap yard just so they can get their drug fix for the day... They don't care what the wheels come off of. No matter if it's a Pontiac Grand Am or a Chevy Corvette. The scrap yard just pays them for the Aluminum scrap weight.
Sad but very true... Scrap yards all over the country have drug addicts selling wheels or any other kind of metal just for the scrap value so they can get their fix for that day.

The black lugs go well with the wheels. For a first mod, not bad.
