Default Front plate install step by step with pics

The "bent Corvette" license bracket comes in 2 pieces. So you dont have to drill thru the corvette panel. 1) Remove the panel 2) Turn it over and drill GUIDE holes thru holes already in the back, you will see them when you turn it over. 3) Install the BIG black license hardware, loosen the black bolt all the way. 4) Intall on car, tighten the black bolts all the way. 5) Install plate with screws in the guide holes your drilled.

Installed pictures. I am by no means a mechanic. Dont laugh too hard, but I think anyone can do this. I did work on getting the plate bent just right before I installed it. I bent it a little more than it needed to be so it would straighten and lay flat when I installed the screws.

The C7 looks OK with the licence plate in the front with that bracket.
At least GM made the area big enough to take a plate unlike the C6

The C6 looks like C-R-A-P with a plate, but it works much better with the C7

Nicely done! Thanks! Virginia needs to offer different colored plates like Texas to match your car , but nothing you can do about that.

The plate looks pretty good on the C7 - sure beats the look of the C6 plate holder.

I photo chopped in mine to see if the red makes it better. Maybe a little. I'm thinking of putting black vinyl over the while areas of the plate to make it match better. It's probably not legal but since Texas has over 200 different color combos, I doubt a cop would realize black and red is not one of them.

Its a big improvement from what it was! I am just trying to make the best of a bad situation. I was intimidated by Drilling in to the new "corvette" one that came with it, and wanted others to see how they could improve the look of their cars. This is what it looks like with the LEGAL bracket, that comes with state that require plates.

Now, can anyone tell me why they put the picture on it that says not to attach a plate to it, if it is the plate holder????

Front plates generally have to be a certain height off the ground. That was GM covering their asses.

You might need to reconsider. I just got a warning ticket on Friday. It was TxDPS of course. Spoke to a friend on Saturday. Warning ticket from DPS also. Locals my not enforce but DPS is actively doing so.
