Default Driving a C7 while intoxicated

In the local paper the Police Report indicated the following: "Driver charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated Friday at 5:14 p.m. Deputy responded to a property damage accident involving (owner’s name)’s 2014 Chevrolet Corvette which he drove into the ditch. He was also issued a traffic citation for failure to control. "

No pictures provided.

Now that would really hurt - the pain of damaging a new C7 Corvette. At least no one was hurt but how stupid can you get!

99% chance they misreported the year and it was likely 2013...

Why would you ask? Don't you believe me? For your information, it was reported in my local paper dated September 30, 2013 but the accident was reported as occurring on Friday. I live near Columbus Ohio if you couldn't tell by my name.

Wonder if that's the first owner wreck of a 7?

Would just like to point out that from that quote, no where does it say that the intoxicated driver was the C7 driver/owner. Just that the C7 was damaged in the accident. The C7 driver/owner may have swerved to avoid the intoxicated driver and landed up in a ditch.

Poor reporting to leave that ambiguous, but what do you expect from the local reporter?

Didn't happen. The paper would not have put the owner's name in the report as the OP suggests. That and he balked when asked what paper it was. Completely fabricated, we can move on now.

Why wouldn't the paper print the owners name? AS for not naming the paper maybe the OP doesn't want to narrow down his location.

Why wouldn't they put the owner's name in the paper? Happens in NY all the time, whether they were charged now or convicted later with DWI/DUI....?

As for balking about the paper it appeared, yea, that is strange. I would like to have read about it and was curious myself to read the details. Almost any and everything is available today, and knowing the paper makes it easier to narrow it down to a single source...
