Default Why did GM never report a Nurburgring Lap Time?

I know the C7 was at the ring and ran several laps, But no time was ever reported? any ideas as to why? I know during the same time period a Porsche and another car broke some records so the track must have been fast?

Probably for the same reason a LOT of carmakers go to the 'Ring but never report their times...because they were nothin' special.

They have a team of theoretical physicists studying the result to determine if it is even possible while obeying the currently accepted laws of physics.

Maybe not so much disappointed as they weren't quite as out-of-this-world as the hi-po C6 Vettes. With the ZR1, Z06 Carbon, etc. pulling crazy times, anything less than 7:30 (?) or something might have been seen as a failure. So there was no upside in releasing the time if it didn't reach a certain level.

Think of the brouhaha over the damn weight. By all accounts, the C7 is a damn fine sports car, but because it didn't meet some magical weight number, a ton of people have deemed the car as a lost effort despite ALL the evidence to the contrary.

How about: the marketing department owns that info and is waiting to release it? It's the same as when Mero blitzed VIR with it. He did it months before there was any word from GM on it.

No conspiracy theories. The Chevrolet marketing arm is just waiting for the right time to release it.

I don't know why it's not published, but to compare it with a Z06 or ZR1 from the last gen with the kind of power they make? That's nowhere in the realm of comparables. jmo.

With the way its performed in every test so far, I don't think GM has anything to worry about. Just like the VIR time, they are just sitting on it for awhile.
