The 1997 C5 had the "locked steering column", "fuel send unit", and the "winking headlight" issues just to name a few.
I ordered and took delivery of a 2000 C5 Vert.... 4 model years into this new platform.......AND HAD ALL OF THOSE SAME ISSUES!!!!
So hey........go ahead and wait away...........

There's actually a trick to getting it to unlock. And it's worked flawlessly for me. My second C5 I installed a CLB right away. Both cars had about 20K miles on it when they started doing it.
Makes me wonder what little issues will pop up with the C7 after 20K miles. But what I know is that I will still love the car regardless of the little minor issues.

Hi Kelly,
Yes there is in fact something you can do. I'm taking the car back to Kerbeck to fix. Would be great if you can get your GM techs/engineers to work with Kerbeck's service department to turn this around quickly... my state requires a safety inspection within 10 days of registering the car so the clock is ticking on this.
Also, courtesy car please while the problems are getting fixed so that I'll have a convenient way of getting home
Regards

Why would you want to live in a bubble and not know what's going on with these cars, or, more importantly, not sharing what problems your car may be having?
A corvette, like every other car, is a complex, technical machine. It's (at some point) going to have problems of some kind. I think it's great that everyone is letting everyone else know what's what. You should help the other enthusiast's on here with any experiences you have with your C7.
Peace.

On-star gave even more codes this time. The transmission one, a new one regarding an inaccurate speedo and another related to exhaust and emissions.
This is interesting because when my CEL came on in my Bmw the manual said it was something to do with the catalytic converter...

If you could shoot Kelly and I a PM with your contact info & VIN, we'll be able to start a case for you and document your situation. We'll keep an eye out for your PM!

It's obvious (or so it seems) the OP hasn't bought many new cars.
From Corvette to Cadillac to Kia, 50% all had CEL's and all were resolved quickly never to appear again.
My 2010 2ssrs CAMARO ( first year 5th gen) had none. My 2010 ZR1, 2011 GS and 2013 ZR1 had none. My 2009 Z06 and 2000C5 had cel's fixed immediately. New Kia, Saab, Dodge, Cadillac, Ford, all had cel'
It's not GM specific, it's just a a part of manufacturing.

all of a sudden I don't mind waiting 4 months to get mine, hopefully they will have some of the issues coming up taken care of by then.

sounds like though some sort of electrical issue, loose plug to ECU or sensor units or similar or perhaps a flaky ECU.

All cars get them time to time. Just like my 2001 Camaro or 2010 dodge charger last week and then disappeared showing no code in Service Department. Both are last year of that model generation and sometimes happen. If you want to wait for bugs to be squashed you will always be waiting.
I rather have fun and if something is wrong there is a warranty for it.

The 3rd and 4th year models will have their own set of problems and issues, just like the years that follow them. I've learned you can't wait forever. If there is some feature missing you can only wait so long for it to appear and it may be many years or never. Also the later models may have a look you don't like as much...then what?

Any year can have issues. You won't find a single C6 model year that had zero issues. Enjoy life TODAY. You are not guaranteed tomorrow.
