Black wheels with non-Z51
If buying a non-Z51 but wanting black wheels, what do you think is the best option:
1) Powdercoat the base wheels - how is the finish usually? I see some cars with black painted wheels that look like they were cheaply done, is this usually the case with getting them powdercoated?
2) Buy "Corvette replica" wheels that fit the C7 and are black. These are pretty low priced, almost seems too good to be true...are there any downsides? Ex. is there much added weight of the replica wheels over the factory ones? Does the finish last?
3) Buy factory C6 (base) wheels. I believe these would fit? For ex. 2013 C6 coupe had a black wheel option, I imagine you can just buy a set of 4 of these wheels from GM, is probably the most expensive option out of these three but may be the best quality?

Why not buy a set of the Black Z51 wheels from GM? IMO they are a nicer design than the base wheels

Convince a friend that has ordered a Z51 with black wheels, that his car would look better with your wheels, and you're doing him a favor by not asking for boot with the trade.

Would rather find black 19 and 18 inch wheels so that the tires can still be used, by getting the z51 black wheels the non-z51 corvette owner will also need new tires. I guess you could drive with the base wheels and tires until its time to get new tires, then get the Z51 tires and wheels together.
