C7 Tire Problem

C7 Tire Problem
Has anybody noticed how "sticky" the Michelin SL Pilot Super Sport are? I think that is why the wheel wells are padded.
Yesterday (at 210 miles) while traveling on a clean 4 lane road at 30mph, my RR tire picked up a 2.5" long x about 3/8" discarded tire weight. It is my theory that the weight stuck to the tread and when it rotated into the wheel well, it contacted the inner well which pushed the blunt weight into the tire destroying it. The wheel well has two small holes which seem to support my theory. The weight imbedded itself into the tire about 1/2".
Not as bad as the totaled yellow C7 but sure did ruin my day. I am very much interested to hear from others who may have experienced similar problems. I hoping it is just my bad luck and that we don't risk a $425 tire during everyday driving.

Oh they are sticky. Hope that goes away, to some degree. I have been on two asphalt roads that have light traffic. You would have thought they had just blacktopped it 5 minutes before I rolled over them. Lot of rocks picked up.

This is pretty normal for PSS (based on my experience) but can be the case for any max performance summer tire when they get hot.

Exactly my point, and I think that is what lead to my tires demise!

Let me get this straight.
We now have a thread complaining that the tires are too good?
Wow.
Go buy some all-seasons and the "problem" will go away, along with the 1.05 g rating.

The only thing I have noticed about the new model Michelin Pilot Super Sport ZPs (like on non-Z51 Stingray) I had installed on my 2011 coupe last week is the improved traction, grip and smoothness. No increase in any sort of pebble pickup in 95 degree heat late last week. Tire technology, at least by Michelin, has made a REAL step forward.

No need to get sarcastic. We all know the tires are the best for this car. And I wasn't complaining merely asking if anyone else has had a similar bad experience as mine. I would like to prevent shelling out $425 every 200 miles. Add something constructive or f off.
