Default What fixes are being done in QC in Nashville?

I have read countless comments about cars being held in Nashville for QC purposes. What exactly are they fixing ?

Does anyone REALLY know ?

Yeah, I've been wondering the same thing myself. Hopefully someone in the know will chime in.

LOL Someone needs to photoshop a C7 in stripes with VIN# on the side with their inmate VIN.

It might be to fix issues, it might truly be a QC check. It's one of those things we may never know.

It's not uncommon to do random quality checks by an independent group, especially on a new model.

Usually random samples are taken across the spectrum of production to verify build status, day one through the current day, where as this was a complete group from day one through VIN 300 (for some reason excluding 01 & 02 which will not be driven)

I agree...because at 300 (or whatever) they said above that they were free of the part/issue and avail to ship...it would be interesting just to know the labor estimate per vehicle...

Proof?

Not saying it's not a possibility but without any proof it's just a rumor.

Whatever it is I hope that it's fixed by tuesday. I also hope my car isn't held up in TN.

Does anyone remember the first 06 z06' a 1000 no less being shipped to Michigan for axle replacements due to bad cast up joints. My buds serial number was at the cut off as such his was one of the first in Atlanta and I was asked to pick it up and garage it till he got home from Oregon.
Man what a blast he calls and asked how it runs well Leo its five o'clock on Ga 400 how do you think its running 5 mile and hour at that.

The term "add-ins" was mentioned in a few prior posts. Mine went to 4D00 held at plant a two days ago. Being a cup half full kinda guy, I'm hoping they're adding in a tune with a few extra hp.

well, I'm at 4300 (VIN 00022) and was told last week by my dealer that my C7 was on its way. Yeah, on its way to Nashville to sit and sit and sit for whatever reason.

Exposed CF roof issue:
Transition seam/edge separating paint & CF has been deemed unacceptable.
Do they fix or scrap...while coming up with a new process to make the seam/edge transition less noticeable?

While annoying, in the end you'll be better off. Be happy they are kicking up QA standards to prevent issues from arising once you get it.

I'd rather not have the car, then get it and have to leave it at the dealer for two weeks waiting for a part.

So you're saying all the ones in TN have exposed CF roof?
What's the chanced that everyone on GMers list under 300 has exposed CF?

They will probably sand them down and use them for the painted roofs.

No. I am VIN 0106 stuck in Nashville. 2LT, Z51, transparent top, CF dash, 7-speed.

I am actually wondering if it has something to do with the seats. When the issue of holding cars up in Nashville first came up, Talon90 gave us a hypothetical example about seat installation, etc... Hmmmm, could it be???
