VIN 329 and 125 have now shipped. Both with transparent tops.

So, are cars will be the Guinea pigs for rail shipment or for some unspecified repairs?

In my opinion it makes more sense to Guinea Pig newer VINs than older VINs. Why make the customers who have been waiting the longest wait even longer to test the rail shipping? I believe the post from GM that said they are going to TN due to QC. What I don't believe is there is absolutely nothing wrong with them and that this is a standard protocol, but who knows.

There could be more than one reason, not just the top.
Chevy never says. Sometimes the reason can be figured out, but even then Chevy will not "officially" admit the reason.

I emailed my dealer about the Nashville debacle and he said my source of info is better then his. He would not confirm or deny shipping to Nashville. He said he would contact GM rep on Monday and get back to me. C'mon GM, just tell us what the holdup is!

I smell
To do another QC inspection would imply they are still looking for new issues. If they find something new they would not be able to fix it at the railhead. Hence the QC Inspection story does not pass the sniff test.
I suspect the cars sent to Nashville are missing something that does not require factory installation (CF roof, stripes, etc.).

When mine eventually arrives I'm going to thoroughly inspect it (more than I would normally) prior to handing the dealer my check. After the Nashville experience who knows what has been messed with and if there are any scratches, misaligned pieces, etc. I will wait for them to be corrected before I take delivery, or worst case, simply reject it. The more I re-read GM's information on Nashville the more I am suspect that there is indeed something wrong with the first batch but they feel the fix can be made away from the plant. Does anyone have connections with the rail yard in Nashville to give us a clue what might be going on? There must be some GM employees hanging out there doing whatever needs to be done, or support vehicles arriving there with parts for the repairs. I'm just not buying the QC "inspection explanation." I guess early next week will be the defining time. When GM says they are not providing any sort of timeframe for when these will ship I'm thinking we're talking a week or more.

I hope it's nothing major going on with your car. Seeing they left them leave the factory, I cant imagine it is. You must be getting excited. Hope to see yours before winter sets in...

I was hoping my Vin 52 would be here by next week my wife's 35th Bday. But I'm not so sure anymore. God knows I'm not going to ask any questions on this forum about it.

So if our cars are to be shipped by rail from TN
So if our cars are to be shipped by rail.....I saw a post by a dealer some time back who claimed the cars headed west would ship by rail. Mine is coming to Billings Montana. How about you others in Nashville hell where are yours being delivered??
