This is funny stuff! Keep it coming everyone!

I'm not married, but get the whole compromise/consensus thing. I am enjoying hearing how everyone gets the job done, and maybe I can get some tips should I need them later.

Anyway...enjoy the car ! As always post of the hero shots after you get the car.
While funny it's true! She knew what she was getting into.

I do not understand the "getting" permission from the wife to buy a car!
WFT does she care - unless she is paying for it?
Get a set!

Actually, I came home from a business trip to find the wife bought a new BMW Z3 3.0 Roadster.
I didn't pay for it, so why would I care, other than I lost my space in the garage for my company car!

Same here.

We have community bills & resources we handle together. But outside of that I make my own money, and I get to spend it the way I like. She makes her own money, and she gets to spend it the way she likes. God knows I dont want her approving my purchases.. and I damn sure dont want to approve hers. Maybe its an older generation thing, I'm in my late 30's.. and most couples I know operate like we do. Hell forget cars for a minute.. alot of us even own a home in our name.. and own another home together with our spouse.

So will you get to drive it when you want? Or will you need permission from the wife?
X2

Some things are better kept to yourself unless she forced you say that under duress.

PS- did she authorize you to post on this Forum?

Let's check back at 10 year increments and see how many of them are still married...to the same person. My guess, not many.

I guess it also depends on if there are kids involved or not. The C7 is a luxury, not a necessity. If you're a responsible husband, then some $ should be set aside for retirement (only if you intend to retire at some point in the future), help with the kids education (only if you intend to have them go to college), emergency $,....If after all that's done and you still have leftover $, then no need to "ask for permission".

I don't think you are the norm, but yes, some couples operate like this. So answer this...she goes out and spends 60 grand on diamonds...and now can't pay for her share of the "community" bills...You going to kick her out? Do you make her a loan? Trade sex for "community" funds?

People who operate like this crack me up...WTF did you even get married? You do know if she leaves you she is taking a bunch of YOUR stuff with her...right?

All you other a-holes talking crap about grow a pair....etc etc etc...You obviously need to learn to respect people IMO. You need to read some of the other post as well explaining it's not really permission. Some folks just don't get marriage I guess.

Sure, but that's not the same as "asking permission".....

Do these permission seekers get to pee standing up in their own home....or are they told to pee sitting down like a girl?...

I knew a couple of whipped guys who had to do that....
