Detailed review at Rawautos - worth a read!
Rawautos has a lengthy and very positive review up containing some interesting perspectives from the author (he got the car up to 151 mph out there in the desert). Definitely worth your time, especially if you are contemplating an autobox, which he saw as the only real weakness in the total package.

I noticed that the article posts the Z51 curb weight at 3444, and on the Chevy site it lists 3298 for the non Z51, but no weight for the Z51 (TBD). So where does the 3444lb number come from? Is this figure correct per G.M.?

Then he went on to say that the automatic was "not well programmed at this point." However, nowhere in the article did he describe personally driving one for comparison. The car he was assigned and tested was a manual. Since he doesn't like the 911 7-speed auto, he seems to be extrapolating his 911 automatic experience to the Stingray automatic, which is not only poor reporting, but downright disingenuous to the reader. As a result, his opinion in that regard is worthy of dismissal, at least to me.

How would he know that the "automatic is not well programmed at this point" unless he drove it? I doubt he'd make a statement like that based on hearsay. Having read several reviews from people at that fly and drive, I know that they were not stuck in the same car all day - they switched a few times. I would be VERY surprised if he never drove the auto.

Good read........ Thanks for sharing
Does it look as if the black wheels have raw aluminum highlights (like the 66,67 KO wheels) or is this just the effect of the lighting?
The new LB looks a lot like my 66 Nassau blue that was IMO a great color which also went well with the black and grey KO wheels

He loves manual transmissions if you read his prior reviews....dislikes DCT transmissions profoundly....he is not a fan of automatic transmissions of any kind.
His prior reviews contain a lot of discussion how a manual allows for "control"
I would not take his discussion on the automatic c7 that he did not test drive out of context...
His past impressions of automatic or DCT sports coupes ie BMW m3 s with DCT s are there on site to read.

I kind of agree with him on past Corvettes. For the past 17 years not a big fan. That has all changed with this design and can't wait to put one in the garage. I also think the younger generation will also buy one.

The new c7 z51 with MRC and rev matching 7 speed manuals a cool ride for sure.
I do like the previous c6 and c5 a lot as well.
Each new generation continues to evolve into a better car.

Thanks for posting!
Yet another great review though I am really wanting someone to trash an automatic and thoroughly review how the different Driver Mode settings affect the auto. Given how many of these will be sold, GM needs to get this right.

What he said was "Manual or automatic? In this case, absolutely go with the seven-speed Tremec manual. Versus how I feel about the clumsy ZF seven manny solution in the new 911s, this gearbox is sensational."
