WOW! The haters of Consumer Reports are going to have a hard time trashing this report. But I'm sure they will try. [/QUOTE]
I'm glad they like it so far, but Consumer Reports is definitely not my first choice for automotive journalism.

CR has one of the most sophisticated track & lab facilities for testing bar none.

Like you I was always skeptical, but no more.

I respect their opinions.

CR is known for its repetitive and milquetoast reviews of cars. The fact that these otherwise low-key testers are jumping out of their undies is impressive. Good job, GM!

Do they still have an old Brit in charge of their automotive group? If so, that guy hates anything from the U.S.

12 Driving modes??? That's news to me unless he's talking about number of adjusted subsystems.

Wow, great write up. Even tho some don't put CR at or near the top for reliable reporting, they actually are. And I'm saying that even tho I didn't agree with them on their RX450h report (I have one and know what they mistook) I still think they're at the top. They don't accept advertisements from the manufacturers so no bias.

Now to the mailbox to retrieve my copy for the top of the stack in the reading room .

It's really interesting how consistently enthusiastic the reviews like this have been.

A bit different from the "original" Consumer Reports review from a few weeks ago!

Will be interesting to compare the CR final article to this.

I think that the article will be much more subdued. The real
interesting thing about this piece is that it shows that the CR
testers are both real car nuts and great writers.
