Default Coupe vs Vert build question

A lot of vert orders are now at 3000, maybe beyond. When they start building convertibles, will coupe production stop for a while, or will they go down the assembly line back to back - side by side?

They will travel the line together. No stoppage of coupes. There will be at least one coupe between convertibles as there are a couple of production steps that take additional time (and operator effort) for the convertible and they use the coupe in between to recover some of that time in between.

Last I heard production of Convertibles was supposed to start in December. And, I agree, they will mix them together down the lines.

I think you meant to say a lot of "COUPE" orders are at 3000 and beyond. I don't think there are ANY convertible orders beyond 2000 and most are probably at 1100 (where I am).

Mike Furman told me last week I was at 2500. Several have reported being at 3000.

Coughlin and kerbeck both have several @ 3000 status on their tracking pages. We will see convertibles by the end of October.

It's hard to make predictions, especially when they are about the future. I don't know about the C-6 but when I visited the factory in the past they built C-5 and C-4 convertible and coupes mixed together. I saw a the coupes and verts mixed together. You might see a few verts then a few coupes all mixed together.

Maybe no stoppage but slows them down. My car was due to go in my last dealers allocation and they slipped two convertibles and two non-z51's in (all sold units of course) that were behind mine. He didn't understand the non-Z51 coupes going 1st. Hopefully mine will get picked in the next one. Maybe this week .
