C6 vs C7 Seat Comparison Video by C/D
In case anyone is interested, this is a good video from Car and Driver that compares the C6 seat to the C7 GT seat with cutaways, illustrating the frame, seat bottom, foam, weight differences.

I don't know why he questioned why GM couldn't make a running change during the C6 run. Its pretty obvious they didn't have the money and they said so when they came out with the slightly redesigned seats.
The fact that the ZR1, GS, and other updates came down the line during restructuring is still surprisng to me.

9 lbs heavier than the C6 seat. All those people who complained about the C7 weight can just put some C6 seats in their car!
The C6 had a lot of light and cheap materials, it's no wonder it was near impossible to up the quality of the C7 without adding weight.

Really C&D? You can't get someone on camera who can pronounce "Italian" correctly??

Thank you for the post. Really interesting. I am anxious to try.
I have some special back problems and usually have to use special pads to be comfortable; so I am looking forward to trying this seat.

Now I know why the C5/C6 seats were so horrible...thanks! I never understood why they were so bad when they kinda looked like 911 seats.
I'm so glad I got rid of those crappy seats in my C5...and glad that I don't have to replace the ones in the C7.

GM sure made allot of money off the C6. It was all around a cheaply
made car. Anybody that does their homework will stall the purchase
of the used C6 and wait till can afford a C7 used.
Maybe the Dept of transportation safety will recall the C6 seats and
require some bracings be installed

I could stand to loose 9lbs so the new seats will be great.

just bought a c7, after watching from '53. this is first model i liked. glad to see that theyre still cheaply made. no wonder the Porsche is more expensive. they actually use quality materials. GM never does get it. anybody want to buy an unused vette?

What the heck are you trying to say? Are you complaining that the seats are poor quality? Have you actually watched this video or read a single review that supports this? Or... did you join in November to simply troll the site?

Let's see pictures of your c7. Which materials in particular are you referring to? Which model did you opt for?

I was referring to the seat materials, but obviously this applies to all materials. A Porsche costs, say, $110k, and a vette, say, $65K. The only way you can do that with the vette is to use cheaper materials. Personally, I'd rather pay an extra 20-30K, and not have the continuing problems that arise from sub-standard parts. But, that's just me.
