I thought I saw a post earlier questioning whether the leather in the C7 was sealed or not but I can't find the post again. The concern was directed towards a self applied conditioner/protectorate not being absorbed into the leather and therefor leaving a blotchy appearance on the leather surface even after hand buffing. I read a few conflicting opinions on the subject of a vinyl coating being applied to the leather so I send an email to the good folks at NCM and received this reply rather quickly.

"Hello -
According to my associate who preps all the Corvettes for our Delivery Program, the answer is no. There is no protective coating that renders the leather conditioner obsolete."

Easy test...a drop of water on the seat...if it soaks in, it's not coated.....if it beads and sits there or runs off, it's coated.


Hard for me to believe it's not coated, but......
