Spoke to Tadge at Carlisle.
Three items that seemed to never get resolved finally have some light....
1.) What is that small square-like window in the headlight? (The one no seems to know what it is for.)
Tadge and the exterior design lead told me the only purpose they serve is to allow people to look down into the headlight. It gives a little glow off the top and that is it.
2.) Why is there no atomic orange?
Atomic orange was a bring back color for the c6. This generation they thought they would try the green instead of the orange. Their paint system only allows for 10 different colors so, orange was left out. However, they did say if enough people ask for orange, they will bring it back.
3.) Why didn't they make the stingray concept the production car?
Because by the time the c7 had come around for release, the concept was already about 6-7 years old. Even though it was still very futuristic looking, they wanted to something new. Plus, the car was designed specially for show; the air flow of the car was not even tested and the ability for people to actually fit in it was a minority of the under 5'4".

i really wish the C7 was the stingray concept, when i first saw the leak pics of the body panels ,i thought this is GM plan to make people turn their heads from the concept design then surprise them.

I am sure he was exaggerating because there have been some videos of the interior when it first came out and it didn't seem that small. But I get it.

Well he didn't come out and say that people over 5'4" couldn't fit. He pointed to my gf and said "well for one, you couldn't even fit in it" and she is 5'4".

Atomic Orange looks so good on the C7 design.
All the AO fans out there need to start asking for it... I sure hope they bring it back for 2015.

Nice... Is there any way that you can match the color of the diffuser to the AO? In your spare time of course.

I made this prediction back when we found out the final colors for the car (earlier this Spring) - Green will sell for one or two model years, result in an abysmal take rate, and be swapped out for another color shortly after that. Green has not ever been a very popular color for Corvettes, and when it has been introduced, it's been quickly discontinued. Using history as a guide, I'll bet the same thing happens to this green.
That'll open up the potential for that other Gawd-awful color people want: orange. Ya'all ain't right.

In reality, green was quite popular with the original Sting Ray. For one year, 1967, Goodwood Green (Chevy's version of British Racing Green) was the most popular Corvette color. Numbers sold per color were:
Goodwood Green 4,293
Marina Blue 3,840
Marlboro Maroon 3,464
Rally Red 2,341
etc.

How is the Atomic Orange different than the Inferno Orange Metallic. I have seen one C6 with the IOM and the other Corvettes that I have seen in orange look like a much darker color than the IOM.

I am still trying to decide on colour for my first Vette... the C7 has won me over, but no colour is a clear winner for me yet. I agree that Atomic orange looks great and if available I think my order would already be placed.
If people seriously want it to be resurrected somebody needs to organize a movement and get names on a petition or something similar. It only had a 1% take rate in 2013 so that is why it was dropped. GM isn't going to bring it back unless there is compelling evidence that it will do much better than 1%.
