For years all you heard about the C6 interior was how bad it was. So GM steps up and gives us what we wanted and now everyone complains about how expensive it is...

I got the 3LT Kalahari on my LRG "geezermobile" and love it. The added cost is not THAT much in the big picture.

Well, the standard 2LT is not vinyl but what some have described as almost indistinguishable from leather... real leather will fade in the sunlight unless you get limo window tint which is illegal in most states...and
"napa leather"? Why is that worth so much more than the regular leather seats?
Other than these minor differences, what is worth 4k?

Also, keep in mind that I am thinking about a black interior....
If you are going black you are probably wasting your money on 3lt. I wanted the Brownstone and that is the only reason I went 3lt. I never use the navigation.

Agree--in black I'd order 2LT and leave off NAV.

I get more compliments on my Kalahari 3LT interior mainly because it is very visible from the outside of the car. I bought from stock and 3LT was part of the package. I'm glad it was. If I had ordered it I probably would have gone 2LT and I wouldn't have known what I was missing. One odd thing I've noticed in 1000 miles. I still have a clean inside windshield! Minimal vinyl outgassing with 3LT.

Its been said before, everyone moaned about the poor interiors on C5s and C6s. GM steps up the quality on the C7 and now everyone seems to complain about the extra cost. C7 3LT is about the same as C6 4LT at about the same cost...

My Kalahari 3LT gets a lot of attention. If you like the look and can live with the price, I believe you will not be sorry.

I have the re 3LT, definitely worth it in my opinion. The extra color on the dash is extremely nice. The only way I'd skip on the 3lt is if it was black, as it's not easy to tell the difference (the look is a big part of the worth in my opinion)

Someone mentioned the comp seats, having started with the GT seats and swapped to the comp seats, i have to say on my TR convertible, having the backs of the seats painted to match that black section behind the seats is a REALLY nice look, and also, i no longer have to worry about that stupid chrome thing breaking

The other thing about 3lt, that damned chrome thing seems to he harder to get a fingernail behind than on the 2lt (checked on a few cars). yes i hate the plastic/chrome thing on the seat, it looks nice, but many have broken it already.

3LT has pretty much everything and a full leather interior. You can even put suede as an option.

Not sure what else you could possibly add with another option level like 4LT.

As the OP I now see the difference between speculation and experience.....switched from black exterior to CGM but kept black interior and went 3LT.....

To quote comedian Lewis Black, it comes with a "Personal Ball Washer."

Only the 3LT has the Sueded Microfiber-Wrapped Upper Interior Trim Package I believe, I'd go brownstone suede with the package adding another $995.

I don't think the leather seats in the 2LT are that great.. I personally don't see them holding up. But the cars only a week old I could be wrong. However I still wouldn't spend 8k on the upgrade thats a lot of scratch for better leather. Even though Im sure the quality is better

I think the suede (alcantara) is an additional option. I have a 3LT Kalahari interior in my vert, but no "suede."

I had the alcantara touches in my 2013 GS - I had concerns as to how I would clean the steering wheel (sweaty palms).

You are correct the suede upper is an additional option on the 3LT. I have brownstone and opted for the 995 suede upper and sure like it.

agreed! Need only to add the nav, imho, when getting the 2lt, for it to be well optioned.
