2015 C7 of the Year Finalist
Production started 8/20/2013
I was at the plant yesterday and spoke with a few plant workers, while looking at C7''s parked outside. They said production started on Tues 8/20 , at slow start and will be at 60 cars per day next week.
Here are a few pics , notice the yellow one is parked in the plant managers spot

Let's see that's 60 cars a day and what are there, about 13-14 days in a week. And, if I remember correctly, about 6 weeks in a month, so that would mean I should have my C7 by end of September. Cool.

60 cars per day is about 50% that's not to shabby they will slowly ramp up once they feel the cars spurting off at the other end look good. It won't be long before they are churning out 100 a day. It's all down hill from here.

I tried to get to the back of the plant, where I assumed they parked the finished C7's but the road was closed.

This is slightly off. UAW Local 2164's collective bargaining agreement says GM can't work them more than 10-12 days a week. However, they will soon be up to 300 cars a day, so you should have yours by Thursday afternoon, pending a 2-hour quality hold.

I am sick of this delay delay. Next thing will be the cars are expected to go on sale "in the third quarter".
I am THIS CLOSE to canceling my order.

300 cars per day? 2 HR QUALITY HOLD??!! This is an epic epic fail by GM. I put my deposit down in mid-July, and I was told by a guy I met on a train who knew a guy who knew a guy who owned a Chevy who knew another guy who used to detail cars that I would have my car by the end of July.

On the coupes then let's do some convertibles. Here in the Land of the Endless Summer, we will be thrilled to get our car for Christmas. Bone dry, sunny, daytime temps in the hi 60's/ lo 70's. The perfect time to go topless.

Can you imagine owning a GS coupe and NEVER having taken the top off here in the valley--- not even once? I don't believe the guy is even a Corvette owner. Ever taken yours up South Mountain? Twisties with SERIOUS consequences for miscalculations of one's driving capabilities.
