Default Dealer points me to a 2014 C7

I was at the A Chevy dealer the other day to get my company car serviced.
The tech said it would take about 20 minutes and I could have a seat in the Lobby, but I told him I wanted to walk around and look at the cars on the lot.
While im looking around here comes this sales guy asking if he can help me and I said no, just looking around while my company car gets oil change.
I then asked him if they had a new 2014 C7, and he said yes, we have one in the showroom.
I was pumped and walked quickly to the showroom and what do I see.
A 2013 Grand sport (Not that its not a great looking car) but I was amazed that this guy didnt know what a C7 was.

About the same thing I experienced at the end of June at the national corvette museum. I was paying my admission and asked if they had any c7 's on display and he replied"what's a c7"

Similar experience. I asked the "sales manager" how their C7 allocations were being parceled. He said 5 coupes and 2 verts, and he said "all of them are coming as 3LT Grand Sports." I said the C7 doesn't have a GS line yet. He said, "yes they do. All of ours are coming in GS trim." I immediately left the building.

I'm not surprised at all. It doesn't seem like there are any car guys in the sales force at Chevrolet, which has to be a big deficeit to overcome if a Porsche or other high end car guy comes in to check out the new car.

Perhaps he was associating Z51 with Grand Sports.

I think the guy must be smart because he knows that the GS will still be on the showroom in late 2014. well it is new and it is 2014 hahah just kidding the GS looks great

Now think about this........ there are a lot of volunteers at these events. If it where not for the volunteers there would be no events.

I guarantee my wife who hangs with me in the hobby is not an expert. I think she would know what a C7 is but there are lot of folks supporting their spouses hobby who are not experts!!!!!!!!!!

How difficult could it be to give the volunteers a simple fact sheet on the new model? I'm think they would feel more empowered and conversant if they knew a few basics . . . imho

You guys do realize that "C7" is enthusiast shorthand for 7 th generation corvette and is not an actual GM or Chevy term.

Kinda like the truck guys using NBS, NNBS and now NNNBS.

That would make the C7 a NNNNNNNBS

^ Of course - not the first rodeo for most on here, as you could well testify with your tenure . . . .
