You could always tell the mods to tell Suzy to give it back.

I think that any weight loss with the Hi-Po variants will come from the use of titanium and magnesium. There will also be some CF thrown in the mix as well. I also believe that any weight loss will be marginal. I would be surprised if they dropped the dry weight 100lbs. If they go with a forced induction system weight will be gained and I think that finding areas to lose weight will be tough. Swapping the torque tube and drive shaft with CF components will save a good chunk of weight. A lightweight battery would help as well. Titanium and magnesium subframe components could also help. There are a lot of ways to dump weight but many are extremely cost prohibitive (swapping steel bolts/nuts/misc hardware for titanium can be obscenely expensive). Body panels can't get much lighter, but I'm sure full CF panels will save about 5-10lbs if all of them are replaced. Titanium valves/springs, magnesium valve covers, lightened/knife edged and balanced crank, hydroformed titanium exhaust could all help a little. Throw some forged mag wheels at the mix and you could save a few pounds per corner. Go with some non run flat r-comp tires to save even more per corner.

It's not hard to see places that could use weigh reduction, the problem lies in the cost vs. benefit argument.

Ultimately I wouldn't be surprised if the HiPo variant is actually heavier than a Z51 equipped Stingray...not by much, but a little.

Yes, w-i-d-e-r is BETTER.

But the big news: With a wider C7, the 'new' C7Z51 is almost already obsolete!!!

Probably same as C6R---Michelin racing tires,
30/68-18 (front),
31/71-18 (rear)
