Default Why no official word on Top Speed ?

Guys

I have been looking everywhere but I just can't seem to find any info on the top speed of the C7!

am I missing out or has GM not released this ? If not, then why! ? If yes, then where is it and what is it ?

And yes, it is relevant to me. I do have enough space to safely take a car all the way up to 200+ mph . Been there and done that before

And any idea if the vert's top speed will be limited just like the Zl-1 Vert. It doesn't even have a launch control :/

Whats the top speed difference between the Current GS and ZR1 ?

They've said 190 MPH. They didn't say if that was the Z51 or non-Z51, though.

Top speeds for each gear per September issue of Car & Driver, page 54.

1 - 50 mph
2 - 71
3 - 103
4 - 147
5 - 190
6 - 185
7 - 175

Top speed is achieved in 5th gear at 6000 rpm with a Z51 model.

Since the automatic transmission only has 6 speeds, this must be a manual.

I am no car expert so help me out here!
If the top speed is reached in the 5th gear then why do we have the 6th and 7th gear ? Fuel Economy ?

Yes fuel economy. Having 3 overdrives allows you to be near idling on the highway to obtain excellent fuel mileage. These engines have so much torque that they are perfectly happy to chug along at barely over idle in a high gear.
