+1... just something for some folks to try to bash. Every car is tested with a rollout these days. Every car. It is completely apples to apples.

Besides, there is variation to be expected in silly 0-60 tests. The C63 coupe with the performance package has been tested from a high of 4.2s to a low of 3.7s in 0-60. Different drivers, different days, different surfaces.

However, if someone wants to point out something "wrong" it is something to raise. When the review results are so positive but you want to find "something" to pick apart, you put up straw men whenever and wherever you can

It'll be a fast car for sure and yes I believe it will be the fastest or quickest production automatic transmission corvette ever.

Z51 for the slightly different rear axle ratio?

Usually the CTS v and Camaro zL1 automatics are a tenth of a second faster in acceleration....sometimes their trap speed in mph are 1 or 2 less in the quarter.
Hot Rod quotes Chevrolet's Performance Claims

"Quarter-mile of 12.0 at 119 mph (this is with either the manual or auto trans, and the automatic is said to sometimes be quicker)"

In the ZL 1 the auto was quicker than the manual.

An Audi S8 will waste a C7 in 0-60 runs. AWD is the key, but that big sedan even tops the C7 in trap speed.

And for just $128K, you too can have an Audi S8!

Or you can wait just a year, spend $80K and get a C7 Z06 that packs (probably) the same amount of power and torque and obliterates the S8...

Your call.

Umm I'm going to take the C7 Z06 for $80k.... What do I win? Lol

I always laugh at the 0-60,lap times, roll on or top speed arguments...especially when folks won't even race the car if they owned it. But if they did I'm sure they'd match or get better times. Lol just because you can purchase a weapon doesn't make you accurate with it.

There are LOTS of cars that will be faster in the 0-60 and 1/4. Is that the only thing that matters? If so, we are all on the wrong forum (including those in C6 and C6Z06 forums).

P.S. GM said the C7 traps at 119 which is 0.7 faster than the S8 for have the price

It's an enjoyable read the Hot Rod article. But as you know, I don't like most of the changes, and the featured cover picture reveals all that's wrong with the styling, ugly curved rear, tall stance, excessive ground clearance. The author points out the Stingray is longer, lower and wider than the c6, but only longer is it than the GS, Z06, ZR1. Wider and lower it is not.

And sad that most owners will avoid the eco mode, the only mode that employs the cylinder deactivation, yet the steel torque tube is a full time compromise.

On the debit side, the rev matching shifts and eLSD are the two best performance improvements, for yet again, another journalist failed to match the gm performance claim, nearly 2/10ths off the 0-60 mark.

Noteworthy as well, the striking styling that evokes a bat plane analogy, that like the F117 Stealth fighter, neither one stays pointed without e-assists.

Angus MacKenzie seems pleased that Stingray styling pokes a finger in the eye of the Corvette traditionalist and that's fine, except I bet we don't see him buying one for his own either.

Hmmm, interesting thread. What I'd like to know that with my old 2006 A6 I turn 12.2 @ 116 does that mean I turned a less than 4 second 0-60? I know one thing that's very true from experience, not by car mags.....auto's are generally much faster off the line than any stick and of course the 130K Audi, with AWD will be even faster just like the GTR and AWD Porsches. It's actually just Physics. I suspect the C7 A6 will actually be quicker in the 1/4 than the M7.

If it's done from a roll-out, it's not a 0-60 test, it's a 2-60 test.

"Weather correction brought that to 12.12 at 119, right in line with Chevrolet's claims."

Hey, I didn't ask the question and I didn't see any rules. I just answered the question.

And I'm not going by what GM says. I'm going by the same magazines who tested both cars.
