I don't think the DCT is gonna happen, hope the ZF 8speed goes in at least, sounds like a good piece.

A better TQ converter could lead to better 0-60 times. I agree with the mpg drop but I bet overall the autos are faster in the 1/4 mile than the manuals. (Maybe not than the mag times and a few of the good drivers on here)

I am hoping that the 3.8 sec 0-60 times GM was talking about was done in the automatic. Seems like the car mags are only getting 3.9 and 4.0 secs. and they usually do better than the quoted times. I agree with the lower mileages, and I am "hoping" for the faster times and a better transmission than in the older vettes.

I done some playing around in Excel given the Engineer in me as I wanted to closely compare both the 7 speed and 6 speed with performance ratio rear end with my current 4L60E / 3.23 setup in my '98 Camaro SS and came up with the following information.

I like how the A6 compares well to my A4 but also to the M7.

As I cannot seem to add attachments, I offer the following screenshot:

A6 will be the faster transmission but that is not what is wanted to be promoted at this point when they have M7. It so in camaro and will be so in Corvette. It would be even faster if it had same gearing as the manual.

Thanks for the info! Has this been confirmed to be true in the C7 as well? I haven't yet seen any pictures or detail info about the A6 in the C7 yet.

3.8 0-60 smelled like BS to me when the numbers were released by GM, and so far the mags are proving that out.

How are you going to drop .3 seconds in a car with basically the same power to weight, same gearing, same... Better tires, sure. But .3 is a lot.

The 99.9% of us that are average crappy drivers will get a better launch in an auto. I still think the very best times will be with a good driver in a manual.

Wasn't also called the 2012 Corvette upgrade?

Much faster upshifts on 2012 and 2013 Corvettes. Camaro was late to the party.
