Default what were your C7 deposit terms?

I'm curious about what terms others have for the deposit you made on your C7.

When ordering, I usually leave $1000 deposit with $800 refundable to me if for any reason I decide I no longer want the order, and I have that in writing with signatures and dates by the sales manager, the salesperson (if I'm not going directly through the sales mgr), and myself. I use my VISA credit card for the $1000.

I'm leaning toward a 2015 model year C7 rather than the 2014. The dealer is reputable and is willing to take a deposit to get in line early. We haven't discussed the deposit terms yet.

I had a 1k deposit with Mike Furman from Criswell Chevrolet, 503 Quince Orchard Rd.,Gaithersburg, MD 20878.
I decided to buy my C7 from a dealer closer to me and called Mike, a great guy, to cancel my order. He did without asking any questions and the full refund of 1k posted to my card the next day.

most dealers would rather refund than go thru litigation, a deposit shouldn't be refundable unless terms change (allocation, delay, price, etc)... otherwise no point for them to take a deposit.. as it's made to "secure" an order..

that being said, i paid up front for the c7, but my contract is pending that it was 2nd consensus and that delivery is around the rest of the 2nd consensus vehicles (obviously that can change as we have not had any deliveries yet).. i just didn't wanna get on backburner and get 4th consensus or 5th and be put behind other dealer orders/etc.

I know that I put down more than most. $5000. But I didnt care as long as I made the first consensus. I knew I wasnt backing out. What things could go wrong? I did insist on no later than the 1st week in October, so I wouldnt get shuffled to the 2nd or 3rd consensus. If I were a dealer I would want at least $1000 to insure someone was serious enough and wouldnt drop the ball and screw me out of an allocation I had earned.

$1000 nonrefundable. I didn't know any better but I'm at 3000 status so it's all good so far.

I bought my C7 at msrp from Lipscomb Chevrolet in Burkburnett, Texas, with nothing but a hand shake. They hve been great about keeping me updated.

Don't feel bad. I put down $5000 as well. It didn't bother me either. Somehow I moved from their number 9 spot to their number 2 spot. No complaints here :-)

Same here...offered a deposit and told it wasn't necessary. Dealer has been excellent about keeping me informed as well. MSRP. No shenanigans.
