If C6 base and GS owners ditch the Goodyears and many have cause they suck and dont last...you will see very similar times and performance to the C7. No doubt if the C7 was on Goodyears the C7 would disappoint with the extra weight and slim bump in power...and skinny Goodyears at the track....well that would be pretty funny.

Its factory delivered versus factory delivered...suspension improves, tires improve, systems improve, etc...simple as that

Just wait untill there's a C7Z06 to compare it with nOOb.

No it isn't. Unlike engines, tires are a wear item that have to be replaced regularly. My C6 is on its fifth set of tires. If the new C7 Michelins are a big improvement over the PS2 ZPs, lots of C6s including my own will be running around on them soon.

I am always annoyed by these type of statements. Thats like someone who owns a c5z seeing the new c6z figures saying..."well, I'd just like to see my c5 with the LS7 in it...THEN what would happen?!"...

Melting Slicks
The same people who said we need to wait for the magazine tests and see if the Stingray really is faster, are now saying we can't trust those tests. Classic troll behavior.

You should add a few more rofls to really establish your credibility.
You honestly believe the test cars are normal production cars? Really?
EDIT: But then, what should we expect from some new members who have been here less than a year and do not even own a Corvette.
Most of us know enough to let the GM Marketing hype die down a little and wait for real test results/numbers from final production cars later in the year.
The only "agenda" I have is getting tired of all the abusive comments from junior members who try to stop honest discussion by people who can actually afford to buy the C7.
Right now we are only seeing numbers from pre-production cars that are tightly controlled by GM. In a few months we will have numbers from production cars released to the magazines
and tested at their own locations and facilities without GM oversight.

Anybody who thinks this is simply a function of a better 285-width tire is either clueless or in denial.
And it is funny to watch those who have probably a handful of passes at the dragstrip speculate the performance increases a relatively narrow, low-aspect ratio tire will give to their Grand Sports that already have a 325 on them.
I have to ask those people, how much drag racing experience do you really have, and do you have any times from your own car (or do you just magazine race)?

The better power under the curve and the huge torque over the LS3 will make the C7 wins everytime IMO. People look at the peak numbers to compare, but the LT1 has crazy hp/tq everywhere.
I think its pretty obvious that the C7 delivered superior performance than the last C6. No need to be butthurt..All Corvette guys should be happy
I believe the LT1 mod potential will set new records
The tire argument is useless. Everybody knows that better tires will perform better on any car. Its like saying a regular Camaro SS with the 1LE Camaro SS tires(Goodyear F1 G2) will perform as good as the 1LE itself. Theres more to it than just the tires...

Professionals can wring out the best in each car but most people just end up bragging about test results. Strap in one of these Corvettes and see how quick it isn't with the average Corvette owner...
