Glad i ordered the 1LT Z51! I wonder how much of a weight savings it will have over the optioned out 3lt? I'm sure around 50lbs

1lt Z51 should be around 3390lbs I hope!

Automobile magazine also tested a blue Z51 and they listed the weight at 3404. I agree with TTRotary. Until GM releases an official weight we won't really know the difference between non-Z51 and Z51 cars but IMO it's nowhere near 146 lbs.

You guys aren't comparing an outdated steel framed chassis braced vert against an all aluminum modern chassis are you?

Oh and btw R&T has a number of 3355.

I guess C&D offers more accurate numbers though!

Last time I checked, 0-60 in 3.9 seconds is quicker than 0-60 in 4.1 seconds. And a 12.2 at 117.3 mph quarter mile time is quicker and faster than a 12.5 at 115 mph quarter mile result. And 1.11 g's is more lateral adhesion than 1.09 g's. We'll have to wait for same track testing, as the article indicated that the Milford surface was "smoother" than that of California Speedway.

This must be very disappointing for you, Sam. I'm sure you were praying that the C7 would run be half-a-second slower in all categories so you could troll this section for the next month with new ammunition.

GM says the GS runs 0-60 in 3.9 I think, not sure what school you went to? 2 mags have the C7 at 3.9 and 4.1.

I just don't understand why they didn't just do same track testing? Would have been best to just wait another week to get the right track? I'm surprised GM let them do this because from what they are saying it effected the numbers, and now gives the GS fan's a reason to thrash the thread.... and 112 degree temps are most certainly not in the C7's favor

Do you see the two pictures above, Sam?
One of them is the '13 Corvette Grand Sport's test results from MT. The other is the '14 Corvette Stingray's test results from MT.
What magazine ever ran a 3.95 0-60 in a Grand Sport? What magazine ever ran a 12.2 in a Grand Sport? In fact, the quickest Grand Sport on this very website's C6 "Fast List" went 12.3 at 115 mph.

GM says the C7 runs 0-60 in 3.8

MT says the C6 GS runs 0-60 in 4.1
MT says the C7 runs 0-60 in 3.9

Got to love people who cherry pick their numbers from different sources to fit their agenda.

I would guess that there is a lot of pressure to get some road test results out for the '14. And yeah...if they tested in that oppressive heat that just hit the north and northeast, they are leaving some on the table.
However, from what I understand, MT corrects their times (or at least they did a few years ago).

GM says so. Sounds like you are believing and hoping their numbers are better for the C7 than the magazines. You cant have it both ways in your favor.
