C7 Z51 in new Motor Trend: Refined Tuning

Only valid numbers between cars are same day tack, temp and humidity. I think those numbers are a good reference. What kind of 1/4 times you think it would get in Sacramento CA on a 112* day?

Variables that affect a 1/4 time include: track prep at the starting line, DA (air temp/humidity/barametric pressure), and driver skill. I can see where a colder track could cause a slow launch easily accounting for the .2 sec / 2 mph variance.
I recall reading somewhere that magazine test drivers do not speed shift either.

I started with print, maybe starting with iPad app to begin with you won't have these issues.

Nothing wrong with those numbers. You guys all know that favorite turn is different every day. Did someone drop some oil, did it rain & dry, Your eyes and instinct are your tools....well 99.999 %of the time.

The average lateral G is indeed very impressive. MotorTrend's Figure 8 reveals that it's not close to C6 Z06 yet, though:
Numbers v.s.'12 Z07 tested by MotorTrend:
Lateral G: 1.11g (v.s. 1.14g)
Figure 8: 23.9 secs (v.s. 22.8 secs).
Considering the Z06 w/Z07 tested had Cup ZP tires, the numbers of the C7 Z51 are very good.

Drifting
Very impressive review and numbers. And to the people complaining about the 0-60 and 1/4... it's motortrend, they never get anywhere near the best acceleration times

well, remember 1.1 g's is not what it used to be...
on good hoosiers a C6z will see 1.49+ g's on good concrete. (any kind of banking of course sends those numbers up.
even on old normal daily driver tires will see 1.2 or more even on flat asphalt).
Just depends on conditions, track, etc. I expect that is a pretty good number for the small tires they are running.

The text says the test car only had 781 miles, maybe it needs to break in more?

Burning Brakes
This makes GM's performance numbers very believable and probably conservative.

I knew it !!!!
The only negative about the C6 was that it was a hard car to drive fast. As such, I was confident this was what GM would focus on...
Well...well...well...For those of you who have fought with me about this, and you know who you are,...I told you so. Read the article (slowly) and learn something. Good night.
