Default Did you ask the wifey?

How many had that discussion with the wifey about buying the C7?

Tough? Easy? Didn't care and are doing it anyway? Had to trade for something?

Or.... Single like me and do whatever you want?

My wife loves Corvettes and thinks the C7 is "pretty", I think that it will be a homerun with her. She loves all the upgrades that the car has, rear vision camera, power tilt and telescoping wheel, loves the new interiors. Wants me to get the 7 speed, and Z51 option, she just loves to do the twisties with me.

She told me there was nothing wrong with my 2008 CPE!

I asked her if she wanted to be on the title & go to museum to pick it up?

She said "yes"!

there ya go!!

Wife is not very happy because I bought a new Infiniti G37 Conv. 3 years ago and now want to sell it and buy the new Stingray. She is very practical and looks at losing money on the G37 and the cost of getting the new corvette. I did tell her that it was cheaper for insurance then the G37 and got better gas mileage, still the sell is hard!

G37 listed on Autotrader now though and waiting to sell so I can but my first corvette!!

Mine was a pretty easy sell. I sprung the news on her while she was in Vegas with her girlfriends, feeling guilty that she had left me at home with the kiddo for a week while she partied, danced, drank, and gambled...all the while I held down the fort and encouraged her to have fun. About day four of her vacay, I texted and told her I was thinking about getting the C7, she responded "you should" I ordered that minute...before she could change her mind.

I'm for often accused of being smart Big Dan, but in this instance I'd say I got the best of that proverbial "average bear!"

I'm running into the issue many 30 year olds run into. We have a new born baby and the two seats become a big issue. The wife brings up a good point, if I get a vette we will never really get to ride together since we don't have room for the baby. She is also nervous about me just taking the baby and putting her in the front seat. She told me I can get it if I want, but I'm starting to look at a few other cars that have four seats so we can take trips in it together.

My wife and I make all large financial decisions together. She stays home with our kids and I work but when it comes to money everything is "ours" and decisions are joint. She rarely protests or gives me any grief and I take the same approach with her. Makes for a happy relationship and someone you can trust to challenge your financial decisions (including cars). Having said that, we have been married 8 years and I have owned 10 cars (the C7 will be the 10th) over that period and she has only given me minimal grief She has had 2 cars over that same period which helps

She's a good partner... I think I'm going to go give her a hug

Well I had a "discussion" with her about it. But it wasn't whether I was getting it or not - that was solely my decision. However, my lease on my 08 C6 expired last December so the question was what to do in the interim. So I bought a new Explorer Limited that she wants and am driving it until the new C7 comes in (I drive it for business and got a big tax write off because of its weight). We will sell her car when the C7 comes in. Good news she is probably as anxious as me for the new C7 since she then also gets a new car.

When we got married I had a red, white and blue 71.
When we moved hare I got a Mag Reded 04
When we watched the reveal at Detroit, my wife just said: "Get it in Crystal Red."

Not riding with your wife after having a baby is its own reward! Take the kid for long rides on Sunday mornings and she ll love you forever...

If your wife insistent on putting the baby in the back seat.......I'd suggest double checking to see if you can get a baby seat to fit....

I ran with my then three year old in my c5 and my wife started with concerns about front seat dangers etc which I just ignored....lol when she wasn't around...in the beginning and then just started the Sunday morning drives when she was sleeping....

Once she started having a long Sunday morning sleep...she began to love corvettes..

Audi rs5, jaguar XFr, m4 coupe, Camaro ZL1, or maybe the new upcoming ford mustang next April ....

My wife and I were actually saving for a ZR1, with plans to try and find a new 2013 in the spring of 2014. After watching the unveil of the C7 in January, I decided I'd rather have the newst Corvette. So, I had 100% support in buying a car that was $50k less than what we were planning on buying. My wife is fantastic!

I would give serious consideration to the next generation M4 coupe... my bet is it will be outstanding. I owned an E92 M3 coupe and really loved it!
