After the Z06 and Grand Sport came out, there's wasn't much love for the original narrow body C6 anymore. Do you think the initial C7's will suffer the same fate and after a few years, they'll be yesterday's news????

I dunno. I doubt we'll see as many variants of 7 as we did of the 6.
But I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Besides, in my book, they're all good.

Problem is, I don't believe we will get a "wide body" version for the C7. My guess is that the C7 "Z" will simply add a more aggressive front/rear bumper and add a front diffuser and side skirts.
I predict a short lived C7 generation with the C8 gaining a curvaceous rear fender design that FINALLY flows into an incorporated rear spoiler. Finally, and not that I car either way, but round or round-ish lights will return.

IIRC sales of the narrow-bodied C6 were still about 40% of the total. People liked them enough to buy them.
But yes, the first-year Corvette will be yesterday's news. By definition.

The narrow body and wide body C6's have significant exterior appearances, most especially from the rear and side views. IMHO that significant difference in appearance and the considerable increase in wheel and tire sizes made the wide bodies more muscular and thus more appealing to a broad range of buyers.
I'm not certain that will be the case with the C7? The car is already wider than the C6 - so that may limit the physical differences that will be made for 'performance models'. In other words what I'm saying is that the less noticeable the appearance between models, the more likely the Stingray will keep a large audience.
The P cars 911 model variants yet close appearances are a good example, of folks still 'loving' the base car.

Me too but there were a lot of people who traded up or made their narrow bodies into the "new and improved" wide body look. It will be interesting to see what they do with the performance models. I would think they will have to make them look somewhat different to differentiate them from the base models.

I think you may see subtle differences in the body just to make it more aggressive. Sort of like they did with the C5 Z06. Although the roofline will probably stay as is.

IMHO, if I am going to pay 20-30k more for a Z then it had better look the part from the outside as well as under the hood, and being too similar to a Stingray is not going to cut it

I know GM has made a lot of money off the wide bodies of the C6 gen, but I want to see them go back to a single body style. Nothing has divided the Corvette community like the wide body Corvette. OK, maybe the LS7...
