Default Trade Offer on 13 GS??? What do ya think?

I hope this fits into the C7 section because all you buyers know the market.....

Oh Forum please help me!!!! I bought this GS 13 in November 2LT sticker was 62,500 ish. I paid 52K. Got 6K miles on it.

Really on the fence about a C7 for a number of reasons..........

But just snooping around and a mid sized dealer has offered me $48K on a trade for a C7 at MSRP. He has an order slot this week, and projects Oct at the latest for the delivery.

I'm not too worried when he gets the C7 in.......but I think I am very pleased he is offering $48K for the 13 GS. I mean I will have had it almost a year and drove in for a loss of $4K.

A private sale would have to be at $51K to make up the tax difference.

Sure is tempting as the GS will never be worth more and the C7 will go up in price next year.

So now I am wondering if I flip the 14 for a 15 how much of a hit I'd take for driving it one year????

IMO that's a fantastic price for a '13 GS considering how heavily dealers have been discounting them over the last several months. And as you stated, the sales tax benefit makes it even better.
Good luck in your decision!

I'd jump on that offer - very generous in my opinion and you're trading a nice car for a SUPER car. Do it!

I've been saying this for a while... I have followed the market for decades. When the c5 came out and c4s were at first at blow put pricing.... The c4s finally all sold then went UP in value. Same thing between c5 and c6. I almost bought a 2004 CE. Wish I did because 6 months later they were selling for more than I would have paid.

Bottom line is the new vette is 10 grand more to buy(msrp is total be) Depending on how you look at things the c7 is worlds apart or very similar..... On one hand the c6 sure seems like a deal. Only a few less HP in the same basic 2 seat sports car configuration.

No car payments for a few months gives you time to save for a heads and cam package.

Take the trade offer ASAP if you want the c7 bad. One year of a c7 hard telling. Maybe 5-8k possible. New model remember. Might be a low hit

That's my question. While it looks like a good deal, if the transaction is going to be later this year, a lot can, and probably will, happen to the deal.

I'd be a bit leary.
