You should check out some of the "infotainment help" threads, if you want to see owners afraid of technology. You would think ripping a CD to .mp3s was like the Apollo project or something.

it stands for "portable document format", which means that once you download it to your iphone, you can take it everywhere with you. read it while on the potty, or on the bus, or on the buses potty. but be careful--these things can be addicting!

tough audience. damed if you do, damed if you dont. you try to help somebody, and you get crap. you try a little humor, which is totally missed, and you get more crap. believe me--my moniker used to be mrhelpful, and another forum made me change it.

You may be able to get one sooner thru the dealer. Ask an employee to order it for you to take advantage of their employee discount.

Helms was due in April, now it's June 8th. WTF!? Can't they get their $hit straight and get it on paper?

Helms is required documentation on my cars. They best get their $hit together. Looks like they are waiting for a release from GM.

Well actually, you're correct that "PDF" = Portable Document Format" but it has nothing to do with portability in the sense of taking it from place to place. It has to do with being a platform independent format. As in being able to be viewed on a Windows, Mac or *nix platform.

In fact, PDF existed LONG before smartphones, be they MacOS, Blackberry, Android or whatever the OS might be....

The Helm website still showed they will be available 6/8 yesterday, but today it just says not released from manufacturer.

Interesting. I also saw it was supposed to be available in June, so I called them to check and the Customer Service Rep told me it will not be available until October. :-(

Well, that really flat sucks...

Is this really so hard for them to write down on paper? Not having the manuals available for a full year after coming on the market is pitiful.

I just called Helm and found out that the availability date for the C7 manuals will be 11/10/14. You can use the Helm website to place an entry which will cause you to be notified when the manuals become available.

see:

Item not yet released to Helm from manufacturer. The item will be available on 1/31/2015.

Ugh! They just keep pushing back the date every time I check their site.

I agree - would be very handy to have.

Now that would be totally awesome IMO.
