Raptor F22 afterburner=C7 tail light visuals
I found the discussion of the comparison of the Raptor F22 afterburner visual appearance used as a design insparation of the C7 tail lights an interesting comment on the 3D tail light postings interesting, so I though I'd highlight this comparison on a new thread.

The F-22 doesn't have spoilers - those are on the F-14 Tomcat for glide path control. The F-22 has something better - vectored thrust !!
A good airframe and it's twin F119 jet engines are the fighter versions of the LS9 !! Too bad they only built 187 of 'em. The F-35 is a poor substitute - a 21st century Brewster Buffalo.

I dont know why the facepalm up there...the designers and marketing guys addmitted the F22 played a large role in c7's design. They have special internal posters, which were auctioned at the bash, of the c7 and f22 together

I dig the new tail lights...never had a complaint about them. I'm glad GM deviated away from tradition in this case. The old round tail lights looked stale IMO.

New lights = Awesome
Runny mascara vents = Not Awesome
Hence I am leaning strongly towards Lime Rock Green, which IMO drastically reduces the visual clutter of all the vents.

What do you think the rear would like if the vents were body colored and not black (unless the body is already black) to try and camoflauge them? On the black C7 the vents are definitely less noticeable. Photoshop anyone?

I really like the C7, but this sort of talk about a design feature seems more suited to a child's toy than a world class performance car.

GM also compared the C6 to the F22 Raptor.
"2005 Corvette continues the Corvette side-profile tradition of a jet-fighter canopy on a fuselage. Viewed from above, the cockpit style of the car has been extended to the roof, with more defined dual blisters."
“We looked to inspiration from modern jet fighters,” said Peters (Tom Peters, chief designer of the 2005 Corvette). “The side profile brings to mind the silhouette of an F22 Raptor – angular and aggressive, but with just the right amount of curves.”
"Reflector optics give the illuminated taillamps a glow reminiscent of jet afterburners."
