3D taillights-not taillight hate thread
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the 3D lighting effect during the daylight and at night.
The designers went through a lot of effort to create a 3D light. But no one has mentioned this effect. Must be the pits or at least not very impressive.
I have had the light in my hands when Tom Hill was showing off pieces at Florida NCRS in January but have not seen it on a car.
I suspect that pictures are too flat to apprecate the 3D.
Anyone want to comment on the 3D effect WITHOUT complaining about the shape which we have all gone through ad nausium.

I like the tail lights and one thing I noticed when I saw the C7 in person at BG was how they are "U" shaped and there is no top light to them. I thought that was interesting and I really liked the car in person.

No complaints here. In my lifetime (I'm getting old) I've owned around a 100 cars (American, German, Italian, and Japanese) but never a 'Vette. I like them and it's one of the many styling changes that is making me spend in the neighborhood of $70K for an 'extra' car. Besides the fact that 'Watson' my current RX hybrid needs a bunk-mate.
I'm sure there are some folks that will disagree but I think most of the 'complaints' are from current or past owners that haven't yet accepted the radical change in the lights from being round all these years. I'm sure they'll grow on most of these folks in time tho. But the only constant in life is CHANGE.
Anyway, they have my vote with a deposit and order for a Torch Red Z51 with 3LT in Kalahari, black wheels, C/F dash, and performance exhaust. Hope to see her (Shirley) sometime in November.

This is my first corvette so I don't have the vested feeling towards the old circular tail lights. I really like the new design for what its worth. Very fresh and it doesn't bother me if some people think they look similar to Camaro. The car needed an overhaul and GM delivered. JMHO.

I really ike them, and think the designers giving them some dimension was very creative. I'd be willing to bet we'll see a bunch of new cars in the next few years sporting 3 dimensional lighting systems very similar to the Corvette.

Great detail when you are 18 inches away from it. From further away it will be hard to notice this detail and looks flat. That was my impression when I saw it in person.

Topic of this thread is "3D Taillights-not taillights hate thread". Do you not see a similar "3D" effect in their shapes both with concave surfaces. Your the first to post "parabolic lens LED light" so far in this thread. Round has nothing to do with this.

No I do not see the the three D effect. All I see is different levels in the lens. If your talking about the Ford light not being flat your correct. It does not have even a close resemblance when they are turned on.
